Guest Gibber_uk Posted August 8, 2012 Report Posted August 8, 2012 Think I've found another bug. It seems I've lost my apn settings and it crashes when I try and change than in settings
Guest kiwishaun Posted August 8, 2012 Report Posted August 8, 2012 (edited) Hi, I have a serious problem with these roms. I have looked through this topic and I haven't found anyone else with this problem. Firstly, I flashed your B010812 from the OP from B927 (I made sure I wiped data/factory, cache partition, system) and when I first booted it there isn't any settings. In the notifications there is a message saying "Settings discarded because the kernel version has changed". So I assumed there must be a kernel issue from flashing over B927 to your rom which is based on B926. So I put the official B926 dload folder on my SD Card and installed it, booted it up and then flashed B010812 (after wiping data/factory/cache/system). But I still don't have any settings with the same message in the notifications. I get the same results after flashing your B927 Infusion Beta also. It would be great if you could provide me with a solution to this problem. Cheers, Shaun. EDIT: I missed a post about accessing the settings through the icon in the notifications screen. Feel like an idiot lol Edited August 8, 2012 by kiwishaun
Guest buddn07 Posted August 8, 2012 Report Posted August 8, 2012 @Tillaz It may be worth adding info about the settings & the status bar to the FAQ on the first page? Excellent work btw, rom is still going strong!
Guest Gibber_uk Posted August 8, 2012 Report Posted August 8, 2012 Think I've found another bug. It seems I've lost my apn settings and it crashes when I try and change than in settings Just done some digging and is this a B927 problem? Anyone else not got mobile data available? Thoughts anybody?

Guest Gibber_uk Posted August 8, 2012 Report Posted August 8, 2012 (edited) just a thought but did you check you imei number, *#06# Yep seems to be present and correct. I get the 'settings has stopped' message on trying to enter APN settings. Edited August 8, 2012 by Gibber_uk
Guest noobi Posted August 8, 2012 Report Posted August 8, 2012 (edited) just a thought but did you check you imei number, *#06# My imei number matches the original under the battery, but mobile data doesnt appear to work. When I try to access APN it says 'unfortunately, settings stopped' Also, I loaded another lock screen, and it doesnt change when I change it in the infusion settings, After rebooting it runs 2 lock screens, one after the other. Guest Gibber_uk Posted August 8, 2012 Report Posted August 8, 2012 (edited) Any ideas on the APN settings issues a couple of us are having Tillaz? If noone else is getting it might just try a reflash later. I should probably point out my mobile data was working fine on initial flashing, then turned off mobile data, turned on wifi, then put into airplane mode overnight. I first noticed it was not working on coming out of airplane mode this morning. Edited August 8, 2012 by Gibber_uk
Guest palec69 Posted August 8, 2012 Report Posted August 8, 2012 (edited) @Cyda If you just want to get rid of the white background, you can flash the black inverted versions, they work fine with Infusion. I use the inverted mms and contacts they look much better with ICS. I've uploaded them below if anyone else wants them. Flash via CWM, wipe cache and dalvik before rebooting. just flashed it as i hate the white one as well but now im unable to dial numbers  whenever i press the phone icon it says "app isn't installed" , i checked in system settings and its there but i cant launch it, the option to disable it is greyed out and no option to enable it, i've downloaded the file again and flashed it with the same result, did all the wipes at the end too HELP! Guest seanbw Posted August 8, 2012 Report Posted August 8, 2012 (edited) This has been the most painless mod I've ever done. Many thanks for this. Ahh.. My mobile data does not work as well. I thought it was my fault. Hmmm.. I really like this mod and I hope that a solution can be found for the mobile data issue. My wifi works but not 3G. Sean Edited August 9, 2012 by seanbw

Guest Cyda Posted August 8, 2012 Report Posted August 8, 2012 I'm not sure why it would make the phone.apk appear to be not installed, all the zip does is install the updated mms.apk and contact.apk. My apologies guys, I've removed the link now so others don't install it.

My apologies guys, I've removed the link now so others don't install it. the contacts.apk is actually the dialler & contacts (phone.apk has nothing to do with the dialler ui,) the reasons this could happen to people is if they are flashing this straight after installing the rom, without letting it boot first... the reason this happens its because its not signed to match its shared user id's for example contacts.apk needs to be signed the same as the 3 other apks that share the same user id but if you let the rom boot up first then flash a mod it will use the same signature as the existing apk meaning it will be ok if you open the original contacts.apk from the rom copy the META-INF folder to your desktop open the modded contacts apk, delete the META-INF folder now drag and drop the the one on your desktop in the modded one flashing it should now be ok anyway you do it
Guest Cyda Posted August 8, 2012 Report Posted August 8, 2012 maybe you can upload the stock and working phone.apk to replace the broken one ? The best thing would be to just roll back to your previous nandroid backup. Please edit your post above to remove the download link so no one else flashes it. the contacts.apk is actually the dialler & contacts (phone.apk has nothing to do with the dialler ui,) the reasons this could happen to people is if they are flashing this straight after installing the rom, without letting it boot first... the reason this happens its because its not signed to match its shared user id's for example contacts.apk needs to be signed the same as the 3 other apks that share the same user id but if you let the rom boot up first then flash a mod it will use the same signature as the existing apk meaning it will be ok if you open the original contacts.apk from the rom copy the META-INF folder to your desktop open the modded contacts apk, delete the META-INF folder now drag and drop the the one on your desktop in the modded one flashing it should now be ok anyway you do it Thanks for the info, Tillaz. I think I'll leave the modding to you for now. ;)
Guest sandrogp Posted August 8, 2012 Report Posted August 8, 2012 Just want to report that I'm on my 2nd day of use of B927-based beta and I am very pleased. Phone and apps at last seem to work and respond without unbearable lag! I flashed WiFi patch after full boot and edited the line ro.config.hw_RemindWifiToPdp to false in the build.prop file. However, if both mobile data AND WiFi are on, and I then turn WiFi off, the phone immediately reboots. So don't know if I missed something or it's not been fixed yet. But otherwise, best ICS to date.
Guest palec69 Posted August 8, 2012 Report Posted August 8, 2012 thanks for the tip tillaz i didnt try replacing the folders etc. just took the contacts.apk from your beta and installed it over the existing one and dialler is working again :) btw. great job with the beta, still smooth as butter ^_^

Had the same problem yesterday after i flashed the black one, so i went back to Atomicmod.
