I guess I'll have to revert back to GB in order unlock the handset ? Its not accepting the new SIM, keeps saying system UI has stopped working before I can put the unlock code in.

I'm pretty sure you can unlock with pretty much any stock ROM (GB or ICS), just not Infusion. Once you're unlocked of course then Infusion is the way to go.

Tillaz already justified and explained what he did (when he didnt had to, but he, in good faith, did) and, clearly, stated that he does not feel troubled with improving ou adapting some 3rd party code into is own. If you still have issues and "moral" doubts about his work, simple do a full wipe and install a 100% huawei release rom and you are good to go.

Retoric statement: If brands, like the one you mentioned, had troubles with 3rd party code "borrowing", they shouldnt do it so open sourced or so easy to hack, dont you think? Plus, they would include, in the code, a legal copyright statement so no one, in good faith, would grab it and port it. Think about that.

PS: do you really think that, in the borders, someone would take your phone to analyse the source code in order to find any illegalities? Come on... lol do yourself a favour and install a fresh new 100% hauwei rom. It will give a few couple more hours of good sleep. lol

We've established that the bravia engine is copyrighted and that he doesn't have permission to use it.

So now I've asked him if he would move it to an add-on - just give him time to answer - there's no need to get all up tight about it, this is a forum - it's good to talk.

Well,nothing has been proven (copyright wise) as far as i have seen? Also,why is it *now* such a problem? Like i said a few posts ago,it`s not the 1st time it`s been included.

Just flash a stock ICS update.app and unlock. I found the same issue when I bought another G300 rushed through to installing custom roms before unlock.

Is it only a good idea to keep the right side of the law if modaco user samjam is afraid of something worthwhile?

i think your getting a little bit confused here, no law has been broken, things get ported to other devices all the time its not illegal...

we are just end users, not a company that is re-branding it and selling it in a product

just look at at CyanogenMod and Miui, they have been ported to every phone under the sun... and things like beats audio etc...

this forum and xda is full of ported stuff...

if your still unsure about things been ported and such i would recommend you drop Paul a PM

he should be to clear things up for you :)

Where can I get a copy of apex.apk - I usually just install it from google play...

use the file manager and change location to "/" by pressing the tab at the top

If the code in question does not contain a copyright mention etc then it is a grey area unless that part has been removed or the original source covered everything initially?

thanks tillaz, its a bit confusing tho, B926 looked like it might be in chinese so I downloaded B940 which has two folders one the dload and the other called META-INF is it just the dload folder i need to put on the SD card?

Has anyone tried the SWAP SYSTEM LAUNCHER? I have placed go launcher in system/app and tried to install it in recovery, but all I get is can't open... (bad) Installation aborted. I have downloaded this twice with the same result.

Could someone please give me the correct MD5sum for this file.
