[PROJECT] SARAH FOR U8350 ORANGE BARCELONA

First of all i want to say thanks to : allah,my parents,Cyanogenmod team,aorth,huawei boulderz indonesia in kaskus,and everyone who also support me in this rom development :)

[PROJECT] Sarah is an custom rom project based and ported from Cyanogenmod 7.2 For u8150 by aorth,This rom is dedicated to someone special for me,a friend who always support me with her smile,sarah maulida shabihah :)

Install Clockworkmod Recovery Here

Reboot to recovery

Wipe data

Wipe Cache

Install zip from SDcard

reboot

and you're good to go ;)

sorry for my english but i'm french...

this rom works perfectly, but I wonder if you can pass the physical qwerty keyboard in azerty? thank you for your reply and your work.

EDIT: is this rom is simlocked? she doesn't work whith my simcard ... Sorry , it's my phone as simlocked :blush: :blush: problem resolved ...

and for the keyboard , i'm use " keyboard externel helper" ... it work perfectly ...

but i have an other problem ... it tells me that there is no sd card, when I access the files on my sd with this file manager ...

Experiencing some pretty brutal battery drain with this. Can you possibly elaborate how you created this ROM (kernel sources etc). I noticed elsewhere (possibly XDA?) that you broke your u8350 so it's unlikely you'll be able to spend any more time on this. Perhaps, with a little insight, someone else can pick up the task.

The Orange Barcelona is now around £60 on PAYG in the UK, and still work the punt so I expect a few more people will be looking for CM7 on it.

I was thinking of installing this from as I am running the Kenya rom. How bad is the battery drain, dose it outway the bennerfits of CM ?

I take back my commments regarding battery life - it was battery stats ; the phone had not been fully charged for a long time - wiped stats and gave it a full charge and now it is as good as the stock ROM (debranded - see http://blog.podtwo.com/tag/huawei%20u8350).

In short, I recommend this ROM - worth it for the Gingerbread features, plus the usual CM7 additions (quiet hours etc).

I'm new to ROM fiddling, but what I'll do it compare this to the u8150 version and see what has been changed. With luck, we may get ICS going on it. The ICS ROM for the u8150 worked to an extent, with the usual pre-reqs for lack of HW accelleration (tested a few months ago).

Oh - I meant to also add. Overclocking really doesn't work. I suspect the same issue as the u8150 port has with the voltages being those of the u8160 board. Your boulder will just freeze up as soon as it gets a sweat on. Leave it as stock and reduce the animations, and the phone should remain snappy enough to use.

Boot looping. Was a little ambitious. However, I now have the Boulder to play with as I've given the Skate (running CFX2) to the wife so ... stay tuned I guess.

Aye - you need gapps for Google Play (ne Market) ; you can get gapps from goo.im:

Downloaded gapps and installed but no you tube and the market said it was incompatible with device, so I had to get the apk from a rom for my other phone, now all is good.

First task you need to perform is to install Clockworkmod Recovery - see here.

And from this, you can flash any U8350 ROM you wish.

Regarding your other point, the network lock is firmware-based therefore you will be locked into whatever network supplied the phone. I unlocked mine using dc-unlocker (see http://www.dc-unlocker.com/) which required as Windows PC and is quite fiddly, but I expect other services are available to assist you.

There are also unbranded ROMS available (such as the Kenya or the AOSP) - I used the guide here to get me running an unbranded, AOSP-style ROM:

Backlight issue seems to be resolved by passing <bool name="config_automatic_brightness_available">true</bool> to <bool name="config_automatic_brightness_available">false</bool> in bools.xml in framework-res.apk.

a simple question, is posible to chage the keyboard to the original one? :blush:

because when i touch every textbox the keyboard jump on over the screen and i just want to type the fisical keyboard.
