Guest glossywhite Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 Finally, a guy who knows his electronics (Dave Jones @ EEVBlog) has torn down a Nexus 7 in glorious 1080p, slowly and methodically (as always - he knows what he is talking about) for all to marvel at. If anyone can make a decent, informed review of the inner workings of devices (and not a recital or copy/paste of specs) it's old Dave:

Guest putbinoot Posted July 25, 2012 Report Posted July 25, 2012 20:46 looks like it was designed to have a rear facing camera maybe that will be in version 2. Wonder if it was left out to meet a price point.
Guest nicksoph Posted July 29, 2012 Report Posted July 29, 2012 (edited) Finally, a guy who knows his electronics (Dave Jones @ EEVBlog) has torn down a Nexus 7 in glorious 1080p, slowly and methodically (as always - he knows what he is talking about) for all to marvel at. If anyone can make a decent, informed review of the inner workings of devices (and not a recital or copy/paste of specs) it's old Dave: Interesting. Things I noted. The nexus 7 is easily taken apart The usb and head phone ports seem to be on small individual pcbs - cheaper to be replaced there are two hidden buttons - one marked reset that last one might help with getting cold reboots to work right and just want to add the lcd screen and glass are, as he suggests, one unit - so replacing a cracked glass is likely to be expensive nick Edited July 29, 2012 by nicksoph
