Windows won't recognize my g300 :( even though driver was installed

Hi,

so since over a hour I'm trying to get Windows (7, 32bit) to recognize my phone without success :(

I installed the windows handset driver of course (even installed the huawei HiSuite). Tried unsinstalling, reinstalling, rebooting etc. several times.

The phone is on b927, updated using the official update file (no cwm is installed, bootloader still locked).

Device shows up as unknown device in windows device manager. Says driver could not be installed.

On the phone, just nothing happens (no USB-icons in the status bar etc.).

Unticking/ticking usb debugging doesn't help.

Tried it on my laptop as well, same issue.

What am I missing?

Solved: faulty USB-cable. doh.
