Guest tillaz Posted September 10, 2012 Report Posted September 10, 2012 no offense but that website looks very dogey. All they seem to sell is rip of iphones and s3's etc. but yer fantastic spec. i know a few people that have bought from there before and had no problems... not to mention anyone that accepts paypal cant scam you... china clones are in just about every Chinese phone shop on the web... they seem to be quite popular judging buy the youtube videos this is another trusted site (sell zte, huawei) http://www.merimobiles.com/
Guest TouchyAndalou Posted September 10, 2012 Report Posted September 10, 2012 The specs on that phone tillaz posted sound spectacular, but it's difficult to gauge the build quality or to know what the after sales support is like. Love the sound of the screen and camera though.

Love the sound of the screen and camera though. take a look at the oppo finder (worlds thinnest smart phone) from this company its got better build quality than most zte devices... but that's not been hard to beat in the past lol not all china based company's produce crappy knock off's lol, this company is similar to the manufactures of the Meizu MX http://www.xda-devel...m/tag/meizu-mx/ everyone has to start somewhere... just look at zte, they where unheard of not that long ago... now they are the 5th biggest smartphone manufacture in the world... they sell more than LG & Sony, surprisingly source: http://hdfpga.blogsp...-shipments.html http://community.phones4u.co.uk/i-got-five-on-it-zte-is-worlds-fifth-largest-smartphone-manufacturer/

Someone on Youtube mentioned an overheating issue though. i'm still undecided on what i'm getting next... just wish zte had released the era a couple of mouth ago, its starting to sound dated :(
Guest tillaz Posted September 12, 2012 Report Posted September 12, 2012 this can can give some info on the quality of oppo devices
Guest Davidoff59 Posted September 13, 2012 Report Posted September 13, 2012 Yes dreadful time to market given this was announced in Feb. Almost as bad as their marketing

Guest tillaz Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 Nah, they'll prpbably just give us the 4GB/1800mAh version for £250 lol lol, i wouldn't surprised...
Guest razzmataz1478 Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 na, that would defeat the whole idea of the kia-platform it uses... (same as the nexus 7 tablet) its was made to get affordable tegra 3 devices on the market... same as the nexus 7 tablet @ £159.99 it wont be over £250... have a Google about the nvidia tegra 3 kia-platform yes, it would in reality, but zte don't seem to be bothered... and here is why the mimosa x (u970) released in china first at 1999 Yuan (£199.99) few month ago.... last week zte announced that the grand era (u985) will be released September in china , and said the price is 1999 Yuan (£199.99) so as you can see they have already made the mimosa x obsolete BUT, by the time the era hits the U.K the grand x will be around £149.99... so there would still be a £100 differance in price betwen zte quad core and dual core devices Hopeful logic ;)
Guest tillaz Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 Hopeful logic i'v already been been told the price of the wcdma version, check a few posts up, but that was not from a UK source just found out that the WCDMA version of the zte era will cost $385 / £240 the way things go over here with prices... they will probably try scamming us
Guest tillaz Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 some new info from zte official site, http://wwwen.zte.com...918_350023.html looks like they are getting ready to start selling the wcdma version (V985) they will be showing it off at PT/EXPO COMM CHINA 2012, and the Chinese version will start sales :) looks like the wcdma version is coming in a few colours more info here, http://bbs.malshenzu.com/read-htm-tid-104908.html
Guest tillaz Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 so, they have announced the European zte v985 (zte era... again) said to start sales next month
Guest Davidoff59 Posted September 21, 2012 Report Posted September 21, 2012 How many months late is that Zte? You still interested Tillaz?
Guest tillaz Posted September 21, 2012 Report Posted September 21, 2012 How many months late is that Zte? You still interested Tillaz? yeah, i'm still interested. i was thinking about that MI 2 (MIUI phone with 2GB RAM) but just seen its actually dual core, and way over priced http://www.merimobil..._p/meri5722.htm plus i'm going to avoid overseas shipping as its to much hassle, so the china phones are out of the question for me... plus i want a phone with a good community, and think the era will have that. i don't think we are going to get anything better for the price in the uk, since huawei have developed there own quad core chip and those phones are around £400 and as far as i know there is nothing else in this price / spec rang heading to the uk... but to be fair i would be more than happy with the specs of the zte v985 anyway, so its probably the device i will be getting
Guest tillaz Posted September 23, 2012 Report Posted September 23, 2012 arhh, this is so tempting, specs look like its got LTE and HSPA... and it looks good http://www.chinaphonereview.com/oppo-find-5-x909
Guest hugobosslives Posted September 23, 2012 Report Posted September 23, 2012 (edited) my god that looks insane. "In addition to a 1,920x1,080 resolution, the phone will come with the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, as well as a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 processor.....Other reported specs include a 12-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front facing camera, and a 2,500mAh battery pack. It will also reportedly feature 2GB of RAM and either 16GB or 32GB of storage." This thing looks insane. 441 DPI is better than retina bullshit on the iphones :P And that quad core s4 is pretty much the best arm chip out there. Beats the tegra 3 by quite a bit. Guest tillaz Posted September 27, 2012 Report Posted September 27, 2012 zte have said the grand era will be available in Russia from October http://wwwen.zte.com...927_356431.html hope its the same for the uk... that's only days away.. i really cant wait to get shot of my o2x
Guest kn100 Posted September 27, 2012 Report Posted September 27, 2012 Just to clarify, the Finder does not have a resolution of 1920x1200 - that would be insane, it's resolution is actually 800x480 Source: http://android-sale.com/oppo-finder.html Source: http://micgadget.com/26420/oppo-finder-preview-unboxing-and-hands-on/ Disappointing - I know - As someone who has a 15'' 1920x1200 laptop this sort of resolution I'd sell a child for.
