Guest Davidoff59 Posted September 8, 2012 Report Posted September 8, 2012 Its stated in the zte forum that Dazzozo and Tillaz were getting rid of their g300's as I read it last night. Someone was talking about upgrading and the g300 was mentioned and then it was said that you were both getting rid so dev would die basically

Guest unaszplodrmann Posted September 8, 2012 Report Posted September 8, 2012 I'm not sure how this makes me feel, I'm not particularly outraged. When consumers lap up the short product lifecycles that they have been steadily groomed into accepting over the years, this is exactly what happens; it is par for the course. People moan their arses off when vendors don't support the hardware, but nevertheless continue to lust after the next minor upgrade. Put it this way, Huawei not supporting the G300 pales in comparison to the consequences of the Coltan mining in the Congo which feeds our appetite for tech ephemera. All an Android device needs is one genuine dev and the G300 has that. That may be all it has, contributions from tilal and omegamoon notwithstanding, but if Daz achieves a fully fledged CM10 port on the G300, thats all we could ever hope for. In which case I'll be sticking with the G300 until Tizen is established. I have a high powered desktop for gaming and laptop for out-and-about, I don't need a phone that can do a bit of both, but not very well. We're talking about a 4" screen, afterall. OK, the G300 doesn't have a particularly good camera or audio output, but for the 70 quid I paid, I'm not complaining!

Guest Dazzozo Posted September 10, 2012 Report Posted September 10, 2012 Wait a second... The ICS version from vodafone, isn't the final version ? I'm a bit confused... Not yet. Consider it a preview.
Guest tillaz Posted September 10, 2012 Report Posted September 10, 2012 I said Tillaz is. Never said Daz would be. iv never owned a g300, just have family with it, when i get my new quad core i probably wont have enough time for both
Guest ScutulatusCrotalus Posted September 10, 2012 Report Posted September 10, 2012 Why do they bother releasing ICS for G300? There are newer models with ICS already built in (G330, G600). Those promises about releasing ICS just holds us off. If they wanted to release ICS, then it would have been released long time ago. No promises => no lies => no waiting for nothing. Why Huawei and Vodafone told us a month ago, that it is 2-3 weeks away from release, if they haven't released it yet?
