Jiayu G3...The new G300?

@tillaz Yeah it's good to see the phone run and see what it is capable of, but personaly I'm not worry about that, the processor/ram/gpu does his job and it's expected. The things that are most likly to supprise you when you actualy get the device out of the box is the screen quality, battery life, buit quality and those can be hardly shown on a video (except the last one on a good 1080p)

that's why i always do my research before buying something from the internet, make sure there are are plenty of good reviews before you purchase

i personally have no interest in this the phone as im waiting for the zte era... just posted the videos for people who are interested :)

but all in all it looks good, i agree what its actually like in your hand is another thing...

maybe if someone takes the plunge and gets one they will post a review for the others in doubt

Yes but the price is very low and internals parts are mutch cheaper (screen...). Plus some of the manufacturers have the bad habits to lie about the number of pixel of the camera and the real size of the battery. They put pretty mutch the number they want on the box and the device (I don't think they all do it but...)

Yeah, I mean comparing like for like, i.e. a budget Samsung is going to be much the same as the same Chinese noname brand (or the Chinese one slightly better actually, since the margins are lower, like the G300). Obviously aftersales and marketing are different, no argument there, but in terms of the actual device you get there's this dated reaction a lot of people have towards Chinese products that isn't warranted in my opinion. Like people that go "ugh, Chinese crap" about Huawei, whilst owning their also-made-in-China iPhone with its massive markup.

I know I'm speaking about different manufacturers collectively, but really if they can put together iPhones and Galaxies with their presumably satisfactory build quality then it's not exactly rocket science to get in some in-house industrial designers to come up with their own plans and knock together something of similar quality but without the overheads of a foreign company's marketing and design departments. It's not going to fall apart as soon as it's released under some obscure Chinese brand name rather than a well known American/European/Korean one.

That thing is thicker than a house brick!

It has a high capacity 2750 mah battery. That's HUGE! What do you expect? That's bigger than the Galaxy Note's battery.

Unfortunately that doesn't happen for us at moment most of the "unknown" brand's that i have been let down by less than satisfactory build quality.

Just checked some other specs and it also has a gyroscopic sensor. Playing games like N.O.V.A and modern combat will be a better experience as you can move the phone to pan your vision. Cool :)

This phone has better build quality than the g300. The g300 has many problems like that blob in the middle of the screen, creaky body, and a loose construction. My g300 has small gaps on the side of the phone as the screw is not tight. The jiayu g3 looks really good, especially as its not plastic, and it has the 2nd generation of gorilla glass.

I think all this is about is a confusion between the quality and the specification. And that what I was trying to say from the beginning. Of course chinese compagnies are able to produce good devices but that not what it's about. It's about what you get for the price you pay. And on that point these new dual core hd screen phone are so cheap that you can wonder what will be in your hand at the end. I mean you can't say that Samsung or another brand could buid a galaxy S3 for 150 euros and earn money on it. So basicly for 150 euros (or more I don't know the exact price of the jiayu) if you get a phone with the same screen resolution, same amount of ram , maybe the same specs in battery, same camera resolution.

Will you get a phone with the equivalent quality of a galaxy s3? No of course we all agree, but the question is what will you get?

The zte blade was an exemple of a device with exellent specs, exellent internals parts, exellent quality build for a very good price at the time, but I'm affraid this one was a bit of an exception even if good deal came along since.

You don't have to be skeptical about this phone. It's true that some Chinese sellers lie about the specs of the phones they sell, but these phones usually have no websites, no reviews or videos, and are just unknown in general. This phone has a website, forums and loads of videos that prove the specs. Gizchina have also done a review, and the specs are as promised.

I have not brought the device, but the specs show that the phone is has superior quality. Even the video that Tillaz posted shows someone creaking walnuts with it. This phone could probably be compared to most HTC phones as they both use metallic materials in there construction.

I believe you on that one. Still is a difference bettween the specs and the quality of the parts that you will have. but I've said that to much allready :)

Hmm, fair enough. Been the exact opposite case for me, no-name brands have always exceeded what I expected of them.

Don't get me wrong. I've loved em and as time has gone on the quality has got better leading up to what i have now a g300 which is really good. Ive had no issues apart from a little bit of a creaky case.

when you say from a trusted site, have many people on here [/ a trusted community] ordered and confirmed that they got what was promised?

[cos Im quite tempted but the site looks so dodgy...]
