Guest Redflake Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 (edited) Just to let you know. I went straight from B892 gingerbread to B936 NZ rom with the update file and I have HSPA:11 Edited September 20, 2012 by Redflake

Guest Davidoff59 Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 Isn't there already a repack of B936 NZ which is the exact same?
Guest vij2103 Posted September 21, 2012 Report Posted September 21, 2012 If you don't install the vendor package, and do ful wipes, then yes. Thanks for the advise but i have already done an update as per guide in pdf. Can anybody tell me how to get rid of voda bloatware after updating to official ICS please

Can anybody tell me how to get rid of voda bloatware after updating to official ICS pleaseIf you install any of the leaked Official ICS roms, none of them have voda-bloat. ONLY if you install the additional vendor package (unless you didn't wipe from a previously bloated rom), will you have vod-bloat. To get rid of bloat on a rooted phone, use Titanium Backup, or some other tool with root capabilities. Edited September 21, 2012 by fr0do
Guest stevee2 Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 I see VF Ireland stil had the release yesterday as planned http://forum.vodafone.ie/index.php?/topic/12812-ascend-g300-owners-whos-got-ics/page__view__findpost__p__67817
Guest b4da55 Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 Vodafone uk eforum "tom" states " there was performance issues that we identified and are working hard to rectify" This is not a word for word quote ie never copy/paste but that is what is said
Guest unaszplodrmann Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 I see VF Ireland stil had the release yesterday as planned http://forum.vodafon...dpost__p__67817 Are updates usually rolled out to Ireland and the UK on the same day? I'm having a hard time believing that a few of us squawking about substandard practice at Huawei and Vodafone has actually delayed rollout to the UK, and the UK alone. I dunno, maybe it has: Vodafone being the leviathan it is, one hand probably doesn't have much to do with the other. Well, fingers crossed on this hand that, if other countries get the B936 crap foisted upon them now, there will be an update to address the outstanding issues, especially the mount point and dictionary problems. I've less time for those complaining on here about having to go through the rigmarole of going back to B8xx from the ''official" B936 update than I do for all those who receive the update OTA, who will simply assume they're getting a fully functional update through sanctioned channels. It is these people who are really getting screwed.
Guest Davidoff59 Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 Surely an official rom on an official Huawei website is just as sanctioned an update as an ota update is and we were all screwed no matter how we updated? A leak on a foreign website is an entirely different matter and I would agree whole heartedly with you in that regard.
Guest Davidoff59 Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 What doesn't make sense is why they released the Irish version given that they know it has issues. Anyone from Ireland updated yet?
Guest deuse Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 A guy had the irish update and he Installed chrome type : chrome://gpu-internals and got this Graphics Feature Status Canvas: Software only, hardware acceleration unavailable HTML Rendering: Hardware accelerated 3D CSS: Hardware accelerated WebGL: Unavailable. Hardware acceleration disabled. WebGL multisampling: Hardware accelerated Problems Detected WebGL has been disabled, either via about:flags or command line. I don't know if it's good or not?
Guest unaszplodrmann Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 What doesn't make sense is why they released the Irish version given that they know it has issues. Oh, it makes perfect sense, unless you assume that they actually care.

We’re continuing to work with Huawei to address some performance related issues found in the software during our testing process. As soon as we have concrete timeframes for Huawei’s roll out of the final version, we will let our customers know. Thanks, Tom
Guest glossywhite Posted September 23, 2012 Report Posted September 23, 2012 (edited) http://forum.vodafon...ght/true#M48485 Yuck! Corporate speak! "Timeframe"? Oh, you mean "date(s)"? Right. More sillyness in grammar: "Often times" = "Often" "Game Changing" = "nothing has changed, nor will it. We just want you to buy our stuff!" "Taking it to the next level" = "take the lift - saves walking" :P ;) "We're continuing to work with X-corp" = "Noone is straight enough to admit the problem was theirs, and when we've received enough complaints, we'll be forced into updating you... but why do that now, when we can bluff you for a bit longer?" Additional, unnecessary grammatical daftness, that attempts to convey the illusion of "being intellectual" (which is vastly over-rated, it must be said.): "Me myself" ... as opposed to whom? ... "Me, someone else"? "I myself" ... again, to whom else can "I" refer? "Me, personally" ... ^ ditto ^ "Not bad" = "good" - I never understand why people must draw focus to negatives, even when expressing positives. Yes, I was bored, so what of it? :P hehe ^_^ Edited September 23, 2012 by glossywhite

Is there any other way of doing it without rooting? Like i re install the same official rom i downloaded again but after doing wipe this time. If its possible how do i do it?

Guest fr0do Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 Thanks for that but how do i update to 940? is it official release? do i need to do anything before i install this update like wipe?official - yes. See in the thread: 2 options. Update or Cwm. Update wipes Cwm etc. You'll need to unlock bootloader and root again.
