Guest nate89
Hi folks, For the last two weeks I have been having issues with the sd card in my vega. Basically the tablet started to say that it was reading a 'damaged sd card'. I was using Corvus5 rom. I tried removing the partition, recreating the partition and lastly formatting the partition with no success. The sd card then became corrupted so i ordered a new card to see if that would solve the problem although it did not. I have since tried using different roms to see if this fixed the problem as I thought perhaps the the actual sd card port was damaged. I installed 1.10 stock rom but it still read a problem. I then tried cyanogen mod 7.2 which read the card without a problem. It also read the card with a partition no problem, however when the google play app was added it was saying that most of the apps I was wanting to download were not compatible with the device any longer. I then went back to stock and tried paul's r8 rom and corvus 5 again, both of which read the card until I added the partition for use with link2sd. It then cycled through 'sd card unmounted' 'preparing sd card' and 'damaged sd card'. I have quite a lot of apps that I like to use and need extra memory than what the vega offers on its own. If anyone knows of a thread were this has been covered can you point me in that direction or if you have had experience of this and can give any kind of advice that would be much appreciated. I should also say that the cache and Dalvik cache have been wiped when the roms were being added. I have putting the roms on with clockworkmod and have been using vega tools 4.0 to do this. The stock rom was downloaded from the original website. Thanks very much.
Guest Daedric1383
How did you add the partition ?
Guest reddragon105
Any sign of physical damage to the microSD card slot? May be hard to see from the outside of the tablet, but perhaps try shining a light in there and look at the pins. I've seen quite a few Advent Vegas with damaged slots, although it's usually the catch (that stops the card from springing back out until you push it again) that goes first. Guest nate89
Daedric1383 - I used 'mini tool partition wizard home edition' reddragon105 - from having a look there doesn't seem to be any physical damage to the port. What I can't figure out is why some roms can read the card prior to partition and not after, but why the stock rom and r8 can't read it at all anymore...it is very confusing... Talking of roms, is it possible to cyanogen mod 7.1 for the vega anymore? I had a look around briefly but couldn't find it, wasn't on cyanogen mod website. Just curious to see if going back a version would actually make my apps compatible again. Thanks for the adive and help.
Guest Daedric1383
Just to be sure, first partition is FAT32, PRIMARY, the second is EXT4 PRIMARY (AND NOT LOGICAL) Right?
Guest nate89
yea that's right, that's how I had it partitioned. things like the cluster size, does that make a difference? I just left it as it was.
