Guest ChrisDUK Posted November 15, 2012 Report Posted November 15, 2012 Hi all, German developer Cryptophon (fredvj) has been working on porting CM9 to the Huawei u8860, and it is now nearly all working. I have been using it for the last week or so and it's pretty stable (a lot more so than ShenduOS/MIUI). To get the latest version you can build it from source as per the instructions here: https://github.com/f...-source---Linux There is also a link to a slightly older but still working prebuilt version on the same page: https://dl.dropbox.c...ICIAL-u8860.zip It uses the GB baseband (404020) so you need to install Huawei's official gingerbread version, then CWM, then flash this. Everything pretty much works (or at least I can't think of anything that doesn't :P). Some screenshots attached. Enjoy! Important: This is not my work, all credit should be given to fredvj.

It does not come with any Google apps, which in my opinion is VERY important! Question: Any news on the CM10 for Huawei U8860?
Guest ChrisDUK Posted November 22, 2012 Report Posted November 22, 2012 It does not come with any Google apps, which in my opinion is VERY important! Yes, like other CM roms you have to flash google apps separately. They can be downloaded from http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/wiki/Latest_Version/Google_Apps. As for CM10, I have had a go at building it but it won't work until I build the kernel from source, which I haven't managed to do yet. (This is because JB depends on some structs defined in the kernel headers, and changing them would mean the kernel needs to be recompiled). Has anyone been able to build a kernel?
