Guest Haxorg Posted November 20, 2012 Report Posted November 20, 2012 (edited) read article: http://www.tomshardw...news-41161.html seems they added a 4G chip but didnt add a power amp or 4G antenna needed for 4G. what do you guys think? did they run out of time in the design phase? did they realise battery life was terrible with 4G? Guest hecatae Posted November 20, 2012 Report Posted November 20, 2012 Chipset is based on optimus g, and cheaper to leave chip there.
Guest eLJay Posted November 22, 2012 Report Posted November 22, 2012 I'll wait until they decide to switch it on and Orange get some competition in the UK.
Guest everett_psycho Posted November 26, 2012 Report Posted November 26, 2012 They have got 4g working in Canada, one guy on xda is getting 60mb plus on his. Shame it won't work here on ee though

Shame it won't work here on ee though Damn was just about to mention this, but yh seems to have working LTE on just band 4 so far (Canadian Rogers), but sadly isn't working on other bands eg band 14 and 17 which sprint and ATandT use I think. Good news is that US T-Mobile are said to use band 4 LTE when in a few months.
Guest logitechor Posted February 17, 2013 Report Posted February 17, 2013 I do get LTE on Rogers Network. Google has no desire to leave it accessible. Clearly they made an error to begin with. If you want LTE you need to root and install old baseband.
Guest iamdarren Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 I'm hoping the 1 band just happens to be o2 so I can use it. :D the auction is up but no idea what band it is
