Change Log:

28/04/2013 - R7

  • Completely new kernel based on the latest Huawei release, used the opportunity to fix some minor irritants
  • Removed some junk Qualcomm LTE services and other crap
  • CM now works on both basebands (in a single zip) though there is no overclocking on 109808 yet.
  • Caved to peer pressure and reduced mdp/adsp memory sizes, saves 15mb RAM
  • Disable CPU idle, improves battery (thanks kra1o5)
  • Changed backlight values (thanks kra1o5)
  • Enabled volume rocker wake setting
  • Enabled expanded desktop setting
  • Set max background apps to 10
  • Fixed "adb root" locking adb until the USB was replugged
  • Changes to power HAL which was apparently causing a lot of the battery drain
  • Minor optimisations
  • Switch to filesystem mounter (Jelly Bean style) instead of manually mounting partitions
  • Enabled screen on when USB unplugged
  • Minor clean ups

    17/02/2013 - R6
    • Voice call changes
    • Fix some kmsg spam
    • Remove logcat spam: USB, sensors and RPC
    • Add SPN override configuration (temporary workaround for SPN names)
    • Minor changes to power profile for battery stats (thanks kra1o5)
    • Revert BCMDHD to stock source
    • Revert some governor tweaks
    • Changes to rendering (for the 50th time, same settings as CM10.1)
    • Add extra check in power HAL to ensure governor is ondemand

      21/01/2013 - R5
      • Updated BCMDHD (wifi kernel module) code to android-3.0 (experimental)
      • Removed 800MHz frequency (this is pretty much the only thing that could be causing non-booting for some)
      • Added power profile (thanks kra1o5) & enabled battery statistics
      • Merged CAF fix for wake up latency
      • Reverted minor change to rendering, seems to create less glitches this way

        17/01/2013 - R4
        • Fixed browser crashes for real this time
        • Enabled use of cache partition for Dalvik cache
        • Switch to CM9 Dalvik settings
        • Minor changes to rendering, should fix corruptions
        • Disable bootloader reboot option (since it doesn't actually work on recent Huawei devices)
        • Actually added the 800MHz frequency

        14/01/2013 - R3

[*]Large changes to rendering - now much quicker and less broken

[*]Changed overclock speeds - removed junk and made it more sensible

[*]Tuned governors to frequency table - thanks PaulMilbank

          [*]Added 800MHz frequency

[*]Updated AudioFilter, enabled noise suppression and disabled dual mic

[*]Fixed in-call audio not changing during a call

          [*]Added missing wired headphone route

          [*]Synced audio with CodeAurora

          [*]Fixed Javascript derp

[*]Switched to ICS QDSP5 decoders - should fix *some* video decoding

[*]Add a temporary LED blinking hack

[*]Bluetooth auto connect fixes - thanks PaulMilbank

[*]Minor USB tethering fix for manufacturer name

          [*]Fixed A2DP sampling rates

          15/12/2012 - R2

[*]Fixed notification LED - blinking does not work

[*]Updated some video and web rendering proprietaries

            [*]Movie Studio sort-of works!

            [*]Fixed data usage

            [*]Changed permissions on proprietary libraries

[*]Switched to a dynamically shared V8 (Javascript) library

Awesome!! Can be upgraded from CM9 or it's impossible?

Good question! Dazzo?

It should work, not sure how the Google apps will handle it though. Android itself will upgrade fine.

Who wants to be the guinea pig? :P

Updating OTA from CM9 R5. Great work.

Edit: Update worked like a charm. Thank you so much.

R5 Issues:

  • Hardware accelerated video decoding: OpenMax is not fully operational, though most applications decode video perfectly fine. Working: BBC iPlayer, BBC Media Player, Stock video player, Gallery, MX player (SW, HW & HW+), and others. Issues with TVCatchup app.
  • SystemUI crashes when changing theme
  • Camera panoramic mode distortions
  • Camera issues within other apps - Instagram issues can be solved by disabling advanced camera options
  • Stock camcorder videos have excessive bitrate: ~ 623kilobytes/sec, ~46 sec 640x480 video ~ 28MB.
  • Very rare slow wakeup from sleep/system lag until kill recent apps.

Issues above observed when flashing ROM and JB gapps post full wipe/factory reset/system & cust partition format x3 with battery pulls inbetween, using the recommended CWM version (see OP).

Great work, sincere gratitude towards the dev. Keep up the good work, confident everything will be resolved in time.

(Note: Issues above simplified list, see bugtracker for detailed list: https://code.google....m10/issues/list

Haven't posted screenshots or logcats due to time constraints. Hope others can capture logcats while these problems occur and attach.)

Is camera exposure compensation working? And is the picture quality as good as in stock? CM9 was oversharpened and had lots of noise.

CyanogenMod 10.0 for the Huawei Ascend G300!

This ROM only works on a device running baseband version 2030 that has been upgraded through the official Ice Cream Sandwich process. It is compatible with both the U8815 and U8818 models.

No guarantees that OTAs will work without our CWM build -- the link to it is below.

    • 'Wipe Data/Factory Reset'
    • 'Install zip from sdcard' -> 'Choose zip from sdcard' -> ROM
    • If you get "some symlinks failed", reboot recovery and try the install again.
    • 'Install zip from sdcard' -> 'Choose zip from sdcard' -> Google apps
    • 'Reboot System Now'
    • Give it time - first boot takes longer than usual.
    • Have fun!
