I was really impressed with the quality and battery life but unfortunately I didn't like the IOS. You can't do whatever you want to do like Android. Is there anything near to such quality in Chinese Android tablets(8 inches) ? I want to buy one. Thanks.
Guest apple2005 Posted November 23, 2013 Report Posted November 23, 2013 Yes, one time I bought something from orientdeal. But they immediately returned my money presumably they didn't had in stock. I had no interaction with the other one.

My friends are asking me to buy ZTE 967s for them but now the prices have gone up. Will you please help me to find another decent phone having the same specs with less price tag. I shall be much thankful. Edited November 24, 2013 by apple2005
Guest dakok Posted November 24, 2013 Report Posted November 24, 2013 Look at geekbuying for w450 phone. Set the price in AUD and ask them for $5 discount at their facebook page.

I saw this a week or 2 ago, very cheap at under £70 GBP. Only downside I see is the slightly disappointing 480x854 screen resolution.

Guest tillaz Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 looks like most china phone stores on the web are not offering free shipping to the UK anymore... once you get to making the payment on paypal a box pops up with shipping prices, so i ended up just going back to dealsprime and paying the $15 for DHL altogether it came to £69... (used 3% off coupon) looks a great tablet will let people know what its like when i receive it if interested.

Guest jamie_w Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 Well my xiaomi red rice is now being shipped, ended up getting a refund from aliexpress and going with merimobiles as it was in stock there. What id like to know is what will be the best way to root it and put cwm on? Thanks
Guest Maringer Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 It should come pre-rooted. MIUI has a built-in permissions manager which allows you to enable root (if you want it to) and decide which apps have can have root access. Not sure what you can do about installing CWM, however. A quick Google indicates that only a Chinese CWM is available at present.

First one think that one has no root access but you have to go to permission manager in one folder called "system". Open permission manager and switch on root access. And you are rooted. MIUI is a beautiful ROM. I am having it on two of my phones and I don't want to go back to any other ROM.
Guest jamie_w Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 OK thanks very much for the info. How would I go about installing .apks or Google play without cwm?

Guest Maringer Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 Most stock recoveries can also install zip files, I believe? It really depends what sort of recovery Xiaomi install on their phones.
