I don't know, I can't fully understand C++ and logcat yet but I've found the line the logs pointing to..

I'm going to do another full compile because then I can fix mounting of sd-ext in recovery and they've also bumped up the version.

When you do a full build it makes a recovery image as well.

But over the past few days I've downloaded the AOKP 4.2 source which I've yet to work on, CM10.1 which lalit is working on, and pac.

Yow. Can I use an external hard drive to host my linux stuff, so that my normal hard drive stays windows? I'd like to take a look at some rom devving in more detail

That should work just fine. Just make sure you flash GRUB onto the Windows HDD. I'd also recommend getting an SSD.

I have a VM though.

That sounds slow. Think I'll go for a normal windows for now, then eventually get a larger hard drive and partition that
