Looks good...

I/hwcomposer( 142): Initializing Qualcomm Hardware Composer

I/hwcomposer( 142): MDP version: 300

I/hwcomposer( 142): DYN composition threshold : 2.000000

I/hwcomposer( 142): hwc_device_open: Hardware VSYNC supported

I/hwcomposer( 142): Initializing UEvent Listener Thread

I/hwcomposer( 142): Initializing VSYNC Thread

Now we can finally say we have 100% project butter, although users won't probably notice any difference in UI speed.

(VSYNC is not meant to give any, anyway)

EDIT:

Additionally, I fixed the NavBar and Status bar custom colors not being applied at startup.

Why so ? If project butter is not smooth then what is the use of it ?

VSYNC is just a small part of it. The main part that makes the UI smooth we already have.

VSYNC is just to complete the mosaic. Basically it's there for synchronization purposes.

Android always uses vsync'ed rendering, and always has done that to avoid tearing. Project Butter just helps with getting a stable frame rate, ideally stable 60 fps. It does not, however, magically speed up rendering. If the GPU can't keep up (and the Blade's/Skate's Adreno 200 is a

), the frame rate will still be low. Additionally, often enough the old and dated ARM11 CPU becomes the bootleneck. Cortex-A7/A8 are a good 40-60% faster than ARM11 at the same clock speed, so a 1 GHz Cortex-A7 which is now considered low-end runs circles around the ARM11 in the Skate, even more so compared to the Blade with its pathetic 600 MHz. ;)

@daemond

Thank you very much for taking time to give info on this. And of course for making the necessary kernel changes for getting this work. You're a real talent and hero for me. :)

Mate what to do for my daily motion crash ? Cn you help ?

Looks like the app is not coded well. It works only on 360px layout. So go to pa settings / apps, open daily motion, set layout to 360px , save and confirm.

You can keep it on lower DPI if you find it too big. It works for me @ 180 DPI / 360px layout.

A bit off topic, but does the Kindle app crash for anyone else when opening it? Every time I try to open it, there's roughly a 50/50 chance of it freezing completely and requiring a battery pull.

I'm not entirely convinced it's ROM-related, as I just switched back to CM9 just for kicks and it still happens.

Thanks for the ROM, and the continued updates, I have now tried it for the first time to find....

1359188981.png

....so when I try and install Sygic from the Play store I assume that it is running out of space due to the low Internal space available.

So what is it that I need to do to change that situation...?

Thanks for any help :)
