Guest tillaz Posted February 7, 2013 Report Posted February 7, 2013 here is a small test you can do to check that init.d support is actually working 1) download "sd speed increase" from the market (free app) 2) open the app and take note of the kb value (don't change anything) 3) flash this in recovery then reboot >> init.d-test.zip 4) open the app again and if the value has changed to 1024kb init.d is working ;)
Guest PCTechRoss Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 What kind of screenshots do you want? home with new wallpaper, toggles... Just updated of what's there
Guest Cyda Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 (edited) I used to include this script with Stock+ so users could see for themselves if init.d worked or not. Copy the attached file in to your init.d folder and set the correct permissions, then on boot a small log file will be created (/data/Test.log) with a line showing "init.d support working" and a date/time. So you can always check if it works on boot. I used to find this useful when messing with kernels etc to make sure everything worked. Feel free to use it in the rom if it suits.00test.zip Edited February 8, 2013 by Cyda
Guest kyan31 Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 Cool, I will try these tests later :)
Guest Pyntux Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 (edited) Very, very good rom, thanks! :) One bug, when you try to choose default ringtone from menu "local music", nothing happens... And for me, internal storage (real internal storage) is default one, and when I choose external from storage menu, after reboot internal is default again... Edited February 8, 2013 by Pyntux
Guest tillaz Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 Cool, I will try these tests later you can use this install-busybox.zip to include busybox in your rom, or just flash in in recovery, (possibly why ext2sd is not working) if you include it in your rom .zip make sure you add the stuff from the updater-script this symlink("/system/xbin/busybox", "/system/bin/busybox"); set_perm(0, 0, 06755, "/system/xbin/busybox"); package_extract_file("installbusybox", "/tmp/installbusybox"); set_perm(0, 0, 0777, "/tmp/installbusybox"); run_program("/tmp/installbusybox");[/code]
Guest Miki Bakaiki Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 Very, very good rom, thanks! :) One bug, when you try to choose default ringtone from menu "local music", nothing happens... And for me, internal storage (real internal storage) is default one, and when I choose external from storage menu, after reboot internal is default again... For the ringtones, you have to have root access, and then move the file you want as ringtone to system>media>audio, and then choose the appropriate folder :)
Guest Miki Bakaiki Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 So i was going to do a fresh reinstall os lightning , using the new version, because i never got the link2sd mod working, but now, as far as i can tell, it is not working, yes ? Is the "storage bug" fixed in v.3.5 or not ? Thanks !
Guest TangerineTractor Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 This is actually a very nice rom, fast, smooth, performance and responsiveness similar to CM9/10.1. My storage defaulted to internal but has been fine since. I had one issue this morning when everything went blank, held down power and the phone restarted. The only problem I've had is that for some reason Gallery wouldn;t read my sd card contents, although it added new photos! Tried clearing the app data, rebooting etc but nothing... so I just installed quickpic and removed gallery. It's a better app anyway! Going to stick with this for a few days, see how it goes battery-wise.

Guest TangerineTractor Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 OK, left my phone unplugged on my desk all morning, been getting emails as usual on it, but nothing else, with wifi on, and it's dropped to 70%. Pretty poor, to be honest.
Guest dalyer Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 I thought that the battery status reporting was inherently inaccurate on G300? I thought that on most or all phones/ROMs/kernels the first c. 20% disappeared quite quickly and then the discharge curve levelled off?
Guest TangerineTractor Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 not normally that steep for me
Guest dalyer Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 (edited) not normally that steep for me Ah - fair enough... Calibrate your battery How? Edited February 8, 2013 by dalyer

Guest mr_mufy Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 If the toggles are not there, flash the togges in the OP. I now that. But isn't suppost to be included? I always do a full wipe of all partitions. And see this problem!
Guest kyan31 Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 I now that. But isn't suppost to be included? I always do a full wipe of all partitions. And see this problem! It may only be included if you are coming from a previous version of Lightning ROM. If you came from a different ROM, you might have to flash the toggles again.
