Guest yaqh Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 whats this got that cm10.1 doesn't!
Guest hippy dave Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 (edited) It takes up a lot less storage & RAM, it's really snappy - but you do miss a lot of features from newer versions. Last time I was using CM10 and 10.1, it was mostly a pleasure to use but suffered from sporadic lags that really got in the way. Currently I'm back on CM9, better features than CM7 but no real lags so far. Edited February 26, 2013 by hippy dave
Guest kyan31 Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 whats this got that cm10.1 doesn't! Its gingerbread silly >_>
Guest yaqh Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 Its gingerbread silly >_> i meant, whats the difference, yes i know it gingerbread! its okay hippy dave has answered by q?
Guest Romu_Android Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 As stated kyan, CM7 = Gingerbread, it is not comparable to CM10.1 because CM7 is exceeded dare I say ..
Guest dakok Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 (edited) We had a discussion on a forum yesterday. Debate was about how smart it is to flash one GB/CM7 rom on a phone with 2030 baseband. Majority decided it's a rather risky move. After that two such roms (uploaded there just the day before) were removed from that forum. Drastic measure for sure, but the idea has its points. On the other side Anzhi, a huge g300 (U8818 there) forum established such "unnatural" practice month ago. Hard to tell with what success, but it is a present reality there. This rom here is another example of such "bastard" OS. Wether it will be without mean symptoms or not - time will tell. Anyway, dont run into it - think twice and in the meantime, have some fun :) Edited February 26, 2013 by dakok
Guest hippy dave Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 What were the proposed risks? I've been doing the opposite, running Daz's 109808 build of CM9 since he uploaded it, and haven't had any problems.
Guest dakok Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 Fear of unknown consenquences - maybe bricking phone or reboots. It is an early "hack" so folks are sceptic about the thing.
Guest Romu_Android Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 A brick ? Why ? The Rom boot normally... And I see no reason why the phone would be brick...finally it is only my opinion..
Guest Redflake Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 Maybe reboots or soft brick ie not boot
Guest dannchelu Posted February 27, 2013 Report Posted February 27, 2013 Maybe reboots or soft brick ie not boot just have 2 reboots from 3G problem and now i dont have network signal, so there is a risk
Guest Redflake Posted February 27, 2013 Report Posted February 27, 2013 (edited) Risk of what. 3g reboots happen on all ics custom roms too. Just saying there's no risk of bricking the phone. Just flash another rom or restore a backup. Edited February 27, 2013 by Redflake
