It's a whole year since Android Market turned into the Play Store, so to celebrate its first Birthday, there are some special offers!

Here's the list of offers currently available:

  • MUSIC: Madonna
  • MUSIC: Foo Fighters
  • MUSIC: Abba
  • MUSIC: Pink
  • MUSIC: Elvis
  • MOVIE: The Bourne Identity
  • MOVIE: Remains
  • MOVIE: The Smurfs
  • BOOK: Touch
  • BOOK: I'm Watching You
  • BOOK: Edge of Never
  • APP: Yumby Smash
  • APP: Royal Revolt
  • APP: Gnome Village
  • APP: The Sims

The 31 track ELV1S album for £2.99 appears to be the pick of the (admittedly weak) bunch for me.

Keep an eye out in the coming days as rumours suggest there might be a week's worth of deals heading our way.

A few changes to the line-up:

  • MOVIE: I am love
  • MOVIE: Fifty dead men walking
  • MOVIE: 21 Jump Street
  • APP: Plants v Zombies
  • APP: Need for Speed

But all the music has disappeared?

There are loads of deals in every category... 99p magazines, HD movies to buy under £5, a number of £2.99 albums... looks like some pretty good deals. Just go to the main Play Store page, click on a category, e.g. Movies, then at the top there will be a link to "Birthday Deals".

Loads of crap deals yeah. Plants v Zombies must be cheaper than that about 5 times a year... Need for speed and dead space both been rather lower. A selection of best of albums, many of which wouldn't be out of place at poundland meh.

Nothing like the 20p sale they've had before or even the 60p ish deals over christmas.

The previous deals have been about getting people to register payment details with Google, since Amazon & Apple were miles ahead in that regard. I guess now Google Play has lured in so many paying customers they don't need to discount so heavily anymore. Hence slightly poxy sale

Could be, add in the google play cards now being available too I guess.

Thanks looks like they are available in the UK now Tesco and Morrisons.

(Still won't register my payment details with Google don't trust them).
