EmotionUI or EMUI is android based user interface developed for Huawei`s phones.

There are no official EMUI roms for G300 but, luckily, some chinese developers used the one from the similar phone - C8812 and transplanted it to our G300.

Firmware is a fresh one, C92B949 from official update.app v.B002

I have to admit that it is not feature rich as Baidu is, but it is very smooth and a fast rom.

It has Paul`s OC kernel and some other moddings (streamlined, V6...)

It has No Lock option in lockscreen. :)

Everything works fine. Multilanguage.

I deleted about ten chinese based apps and made wake by volume buttons.

I don`t know if you saw the newest huawei keyboard, but this one is a pleasant surprise.

Installation instructions:

- You have to have ICS (baseband 2030), rooted, unlocked bootloader and a recovery (cwm, maybe twrp)

- Download zip file (rom), gapps for ICS, and transfer that to SDcard

- Turn on debugging on your phone, turn off fast boot, turn off phone (some folks remove battery now:))

- Press vol. up and power button together for 10 seconds.

- You are in CWM now (probably)

- Wipe data/factory reset

- Wipe cache partition

- Mounts: Format System, Cache, Cust, Data

- Advanced: Wipe Dalvik cache, battery stats if you have them, Reboot recovery

- Install zip from SDcard -> choose zip -> your rom (zip)

- Install zip from SDcard -> choose zip -> gapps for ICS (zip)

- Reboot to system

Leave your phone now for 5 minutes, let it take a breath.

Go to Developer options in settings and switch off animations.

Huawei toggles from Cyda

(remove CM toggles and restore Huawei toggles - warning: this addon will factory reset the phone and wipe all data):

CM style power toggles from Tillaz - flash in recovery without wipes

http://www.modaco.co...-ics-rom-guide/

(rom should have it`s own toggles but they don`t show to me - dunno why - help needed)

If you don`t want vol. buttons wake, just use root explorer to find system/usr/keylayout/7x27a_kp.kl

file and long press and select edit option. Find the lines with numbers 114 and 115 and replace word POWER with

WAKE_DROPPED. Save and reboot.

Root is not perfect. If it trows an error on root request, go to Permission Manager and mark the app.

Afterwards, it plays nice.

My bad :-!

I will correct that. For now, find Cm toggles topic from Tillaz on modaco and get it there. Flash without wipes.

Flashing the toggles will replace many of the system icons on this ROM. The toggles replace an apk called systemUI, and the system ui controls some of the ui and icons (the statusbar).

Correct. This is just a measure to get excellent toggles because original ones dont show for whatever reason.

It would be great if you could look into it.

anyway here are some screenshots, it's very very MIUI v5 - like

download all screenshots from here: https://docs.google....dit?usp=sharing

It also has notification toggles, they are also pretty nice and customizable but they also dont have go to sleep and there is no volume rocker wake option :(

Well, it nearly all works. it's fairly smooth. But it's nothing exceptional or radical, certainly a backward step from stock +, slim or even they other Chinese ROMs.

the only actual bug I found was that exchange email didn't work - it just wouldn't connect.

It wouldn't be my top priority, but I'll see what I can do when I have some time.

When you open Permissions Manager there is a message which says "MIUI will not ask you for permissions..." I thought it was real EMUI from Huawei  anyway amazing rom, really fast.

There is a way. I think I wrote about setting keyboard into a rom somewhere inside last 10 pages of my baidu rom topic.

Look there, or wait till I get to PC :)

It goes like this:

Replacing chinese (or any keyboard) is not just

copying *.apk file to rom`s system/apk folder.

There are few extra steps more:

Open hwime.apk (or another keyboard) with 7zip.

Find files inside \lib\armeabi\

Copy them to rom`s system\lib\ folder.

Copy HwIme.apk to system\apps folder

To remove unwanted keyboard from rom

remove it from system\apps folder

you can also remove its files from system\lib\ folder

Which ones?

Those you`ll find in keyboard apk`s \lib\armeabi\ folder.
