[ROM][JB 4.2.2][AOKP-MR1]

This is my build of AOKP Jellybean for the ZTE CrescentAOKP is a great, fast and highly customizable rom based on Jellybean 4.2.2So I decided to make it for our Crescents, too.It is also by far the fastest Android 4.2.2 ROM I've tried so far, probably because it's the closest to AOSPInstructions:

• Grab the ROM and the gapps and stick them on your SD.
  
• Boot in to Recovery by turning the phone off, and turning it on while holding the volume down key.
  
• 'Wipe Data/Factory Reset'
  
• 'Install zip from sdcard' -> 'Choose zip from sdcard' -> ROM
  
• Install "Fixes.zip"
  
• Optional: Install other zips
  
• Install Gapps
  
• 'Reboot System Now'
  
• Give it time - first boot takes longer than usual.
  
• Have fun!

  • Some things are rotated by 180 degrees like screenshots, previews in multitasking and screen off animation

It is multilanguage, like most AOSP based ROMs

Screenshots are not really needed, as it looks just like your normal Jellybean 4.2, but I might make some, until then you can find some here http://aokp.co/

Maybe I'm being dumb but I can't find where to add a powerstrip, I'm not a big fan of the tiles. Is there no way to add that in the rom.

EDIT: Never mind, found it under Statusbar Toggles, change the style to traditional.

Isn't the surface dithering working in the other CM10.1 roms? Any way to bring those fixes into AOKP?

Yes it is working in all other cm10.1 roms.

I will try looking into into it but we'll probably have to wait until erikcas fixes it

I think I might have found it, in device config, could be wrong tho

Hi, just installed this ROM and waiting to check battery live - previous one installed drained in less than 10 hours.

For now, 2 questions:

- Does this ROM has swype (the option in settings for what I believe is swype is checked but nothing happens)?

- Does it include APP2SD? If not, what can I use to enabled it (main reason for rooting)?

Android's native swipe doesn't work on armv6, you can however use other swipe keyboards like swiftkey

APP2SD is not included but you can use Int2ext Mounts2Sd or similar a2sd apps/script

I just tried adding the lovely pink boot animation back in (from here) but it doesn't seem to work, here's the AOKP animation for those who want to gay it up :P

Is the boot animation not in system/media anymore? There is a zip in there but it's called bootanimation-alt.zip, I tried replacing that and making sure the permissions were rw--r--r but still doesn't work. Just comes up with the android default animation.

I also checked the image sizes inside and they are all 480x800

Any clues?

the right path is still media/bootamimation.zip.

that file doesn't exist here becauae I dislike the AOKP bootanimation, so I renamed it to get the android bootanimation, rename it back and it should work,haven't tried it however.l

What's the diff. between those... AOKP, AOSP, etc. ?

What is special then about "Paranoid" ?

As far as I understand it, AOSP is the core Android experience, unchanged. AOKP and Paranoid Android are remixed versions, like CyanogenMod.

All the remixes though are built on the AOSP base, I might be wrong though.

I don't like Paranoid so I'ill test this AOKP, 'cause I'm a little bit deceived by 4.2. from Daz even if it is a good ROM.

Also, do I still need to flash the omx patch ?

And... no market / gapps !

Unfortunately not, because there's a lot of unnecesary stuff in there, like livewallpapers, it will be noticably smaller in the next build.

Also you can remove Launcher2.apk from thevrom's zip and install trebuchet.zip that should give you about 8mb of space, I will update the zip to do that automaticly tomorrow, also remove VideoEditor.apk and LiveWallpapers.apk

So, as I'm not afraid of TPT, how many MB do I need to flash ? 220 for system ?

Yes, works great with 220 mb stock tpt here, but you don't have to, you could just follow my last post, that shold bring it just under 200mb

I don't use Link2SD so I can't help you with that one, try mounts2sd or int2ext
