Just flashed Shendu 4.1.2 version 20130705. Flashed the 4.1.2 gapps too. Then created Google account. But when I open play store, it doesn't connect to the internet. Says "retry". Other apps like browser are working fine. So there's no data connection problem. Flashed with full wipes twice. Problem persists. Can someone help me? Please.

 

Problem solved. I was flashing the wrong gapps. Too hasty. :P

It works but there's an awful lot of Chinese rubbish thats very difficult to uninstall. If you download it without gapps, you don't get a language choice. Its Chinese only. :angry:

Did you try changing the build.prop language setting to EN, and country to GB before flashing?

No. How can I do that when all the lingo is Chinese? :(  And another problem is I cannot turn the phone off. Have to pull the battery to get that done :angry: .

Lingo is in english :)

Smweb told you to change the language before flashing - meaning you open your rom zip file with

7zip, find build.prop file and edit it with notepad++ and set your language and country.

More details you can find, as usual - in OP (first post of this topic).

Another way is to try to find settings in UI and look for keyboard or sign A icon and switch to english there.

Thanks for that, Dadok. Had already done as you posted above. Got English on most apps. However, the phone will still not turn off bt pressing the button at the top of the phone. I still have to pull the battery   :angry:

 

 

EDIT: The shutdown problem is caused by chhoosing English from the list of languages in the Language & Input option in the Settings Menu. If left on the default Chinese language the shutdown menu will come up when you press the button.

Can anyone help me, im trying to transfer apps to my sd card. Ive just installed miui 3.11.1 and even though im using appmgr111 i cant see the button to move the app. Any ideas?
