TWRP 2.7.1.0 Official of TeamWin for U8833/U8951

You need Unlocked Bootloader.

Instructions:

Install it in Fastboot mode directly downloading this zip , unzip it in a folder, turn off the phone and put it in Fastboot mode by pressing Vol- and Power at a time for a few seconds and release, it will have been stuck on the logo of Huawei. Now connect your phone to your PC and open the file "Here choose correct file for your OS". Once installed, the phone will automatically restart.

The Spanish & UK are different but I think this works for both. You can try if you have unlocked bootloader. if this not works you tell me.

Hang on a minute. Rooting and unlocking are two different things. You can unlock, root or do both independently. So no-one has had the nerve to try for fear of damaging the phone. Fair enough.

You need unlock bootloader for root & for root you need install custom recovery.

Really. Both my Skate/OMC were rooted and unlocked and I am sure that I rooted first. Perhaps I am mis-remembering. :blush:

For the Ascend? No and I won't until somebody else has had the nerve (and been successful). Don't want to render a brand new phone unusable. :D

I was talking about rooting my previous Skate/OMC phones in any event.

If this recovery dont works for this model you only need to flash stock recovery no more problems.

I am about to buy a G510, but since I am in China right now it will be a T8591, not U8591. I won't buy it if I cannot install Recovery & Root.

I downloaded the installTWRP file and tried to install on my VodafoneUK G510 but it fails when trying to write to the phone. Here's what I did...

1. Started the phone with vol- and power button until it hung on the huawei logo.

2. I ran the windows version in the downloaded twrp rar file.

3. The twrp file found the device perfectly and tried to write to the device but reported "failed"

*Has this root worked for anyone on the vodafoneUK model?*

Yes i have the recovery installed and i flashed supersu and now i have root so guys its working perfect no need to worry!!!
