Thanks again Ricky, now got plenty of space to play around with ;)

By the way I ran the memory tester "h2testw_1.4" to make sure the card was OK, I'd definitely recommend it

I copyed all my apk to sdcard them coped to computer then done the mod then reinstalled them all

;)

is copying the same as 'move to usb' as some of the data always stays on the data partition so would the application data be lost after using the tool? For example angry birds is currently on usb storage 38 mb but there is data on the 1.7 gb partition of 218 kb would the game data be lost?

Hope I explained that okay

na this mod you have to do manually but ill try and add it to the aio tool :)

That would be great. Failing that, would you be able to tell us how to do it manually.

Cheers!

I think I briked it, stuck on xolo screen.

only problem is that I keep getting a error device not found, so I don't think I can brick fix it.

Any help would be greatly apreciated, thanks.

UPDATE: fixed it guess I should learn to read before posting ;)

you would have to back up your sdcard_ext and your applications as this would delete both data and sdcard partitions and then resize them

would the titanium app restore back to the newly swapped partition

adb shell

Su

fdisk dev/block/mmcblk0

p

and copy output to here

On standard system ?

The number of cylinders for this disk is set to 1945600.

There is nothing wrong with that, but this is larger than 1024,

and could in certain setups cause problems with:

1) software that runs at boot time (e.g., old versions of LILO)

2) booting and partitioning software from other OSs

I assume the microSD has to be in when using the swap in the tool? What does the microSD get formated to in the process is it fat32?

New Rooting Your Phone

Press any key to continue . . .

Now unlock your device and confirm the restore operation.

Please look at your device and click RESTORE!

If all is successful i will tell you, if not this shell will run forever.

Running ...

...which runs forever. (or more than 5 mins)

I'm having this problem as well, when trying to root.

I unlock my phone and click 'Restore my data' Then my phone says 'Restoration starting' then 'Resoration Ended' but nothing else happens, and the tool just sits there saying Running.......

I think the problem might be due to the Intel drivers not being installed correctly. When I plug my phone in, I get a message saying 'There was a problem installing this hardware...... Intel MTP USB Device' Although in device mgr, it shows an Android phone, and no devices have any exclamation marks or errors.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Oh and PS. Cheers Ricky, the effort you've put into this is appreciated.

-----UPDATE-----

I percevered and somehow got it to work, but have some errors as the phone reboots.

Running ...

Successful, going to reboot your device!

error: device not found

Waiting for device to show up again....

rm failed for /data/local.prop, No such file or directory

reboot: Operation not permitted

You can close all open command-prompts now!

After reboot all is done! Have fun!

Bin4ry

Press any key to continue . . .

My phone is not rooted. I've tested this by loading root explorer and trying to navigate to /root and I get a message saying my phone is not rooted. Is this a good way to test or is there a better way ???

I've also had a look at the script, and the line where things started to fail was

C:\SanDiego\tools\adb.exe shell mount -o remount,rw dev/block/mmcblock0p2 /system

So I've tried to do that from a command prompt and get the error.

Mount : Operation not permitted.

I've tried toggling USB debugging mode. adb does not see the phone when this is turned off, and when I turn it back on I get the same error.

Any ideas on what I should try next ?

https://play.google....290Y2hlY2siXQ.., just a basic root checker.

Have you checked you've not got the 27MB patch installed? If so downgrade first.

Edit:- sorry I missed the Intel drivers problem. Uninstall the drivers and re-install(you are using the correct ones?). What OS are you running?

Cheers BlueMoonRising,

The drivers problem goes away when I change the usb mode from media player (MTP) to Camera (PTP), so thats what I have my phone set to now.

The Intel drivers are the ones from post 1 of this thread.

I'm running WinXP (x86) in a parallels VM

I don't know if I have the 27mb patch installed. My phone tells me its running Android 4.04, Kernel ver 3.08-138190-gb6052d2, Build no. AZ210aA_ICS_02.27

I tried the 27mb downgrade option from the tool and got the following errors

Please make your decision:32

---- UPDATE------

I think I might have had the 27mb update installed.

I copied the xolo rom over to the device, and installed, then rooted sucessfuly. Now gonna try and get SD card working.

Question. Is it safe to install the OTA update now, or will it mean I will lose root. Should I install it or not ?

Guest ashutosh00074

you'll have to factory reset if that don't work goto the xolo site and download the ics update.zip and copy it to the root of your 10gb sdcard goto settings about phone update from usb storage the phone will reboot and flash the update if you still can't get it working reboot to recovery and do a full wipe but remember this will format your sdcard to

I HAVE REDOWNLOADED ics update.zip from xolo site as you say . but unable to get status bar now what can i do ?
