Guest vareBlade Posted May 13, 2013 Report Posted May 13, 2013 (edited) Is Y300 really G510? Cause the specs in gsmarena don't match. If I get a y300, will I be able to flash any of the development goodies in this forum? Edited May 13, 2013 by vareBlade
Guest Simon O Posted May 13, 2013 Report Posted May 13, 2013 The hardware is slightly different but so far people have found that roms for the G510 work on the Y300. So they are similar but not the same.
Guest ZolaIII Posted May 13, 2013 Report Posted May 13, 2013 Everything is exactly the same! The G510 have 0,5" bigger screen & on the other hand Y300 (EU model Y300-100) have a bigger battery! The only other difference is that the cpu clock of Y300 models is firmware locked at 1008 MHz!
Guest Simon O Posted May 13, 2013 Report Posted May 13, 2013 The only other difference is that the cpu clock of Y300 models is firmware locked at 1008 MHz! Do you have conclusive evidence that the CPU is firmware locked to 1008MHz or are you just making an assumption?
Guest ZolaIII Posted May 14, 2013 Report Posted May 14, 2013 Assumption is based on the reports that Y300 flashed whit G510 firmware stil works at the 1008 MHz & that this is common thing for this manufacturer based on earlier models. So it can be considered as a fact! This is not mi first huawei mobile you know.
Guest ZolaIII Posted May 15, 2013 Report Posted May 15, 2013 Me neither! It even happened that the same model from same operater work on the different clocks whit different sub firmware revision! ^o^
Guest calyyn Posted May 24, 2013 Report Posted May 24, 2013 You think you can change the CPU frequency by installing the kernel from G510?
Guest ZolaIII Posted May 24, 2013 Report Posted May 24, 2013 No its locked in a sub firmware, you will be able to do this only when there is a costume rom with oc.
