Guest csubuka Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 (edited) Hi, I am asking this strange question to you because carrier unlocking the phone will void my warranty, even with the usage of an unlock code originating from the factory - using the modaco unlock source - I presume (or at least I will have great problems validating my rights towards my carrier, which would surely have some papers that would tell that I voided my warranty by this act I have done)... so in case the phone will have issues I will be in need of re-locking it to it's original carrier. I am pretty sure that this can be done somehow, because there should be a "secret" menu (which should be accessible via a code written in the dialer) in which you can lock the phone to a carrier knowing your country MCC and carrier MNC. It surely was available on the Samsung Galaxy line, in some service menu... *7465625*638*# with this code (Configure Network Lock MCC/MNC) I was able to lock back a Galaxy S to it's original carrier upon entering the carrier unlock PIN again and typing in the MCC/MNC codes I looked up on the internet.. Does anyone know such code on the Huawei Y300, I could not find a source on the internet though??? Thanks for any answer helping me! Edited June 7, 2013 by csubuka
Guest ZolaIII Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 The warranty is given by the manufacturer not the carrier & manufacturer must obey country Law in witch they are working! The carrier can't force you to use only they services bat they can sue you if you don't pay for contracted obligations! Other words till you pay your bill they cudnt care less what are you doing whit you're phone!
Guest csubuka Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 (edited) Thanks for your answer! I know that the warranty should not be a problem, but in Hungary it surely will be.... If the repairshop will find anything that can be used against me (to allow them to refuse the repair) they will be happy not to help me... And I know that unlocking is not downright illegal, but the contract I signed with the carrier contains hints that are breached while unlocking your phone, so up until your contract lasts (two years usually) you can not unlock your phone... (otherwise you violate the contract whether you pay your bills or not... and their refusal to repair will be backed by the paper I signed - and yeah it is sure that I must hand in the "broken" phone to them first and only after that will they pass it on to a repairshop)... PS: Yes, the carrier can force you not to use any other carrier's network, because they are the ones who write the terms. Probably by cursing and threatening I will be able to achieve my right, but I do not really like to get into that... Edited June 7, 2013 by csubuka
Guest ZolaIII Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 They don't give a f*** when you really pay the contract fee! They also should provide you with unlock key when you're contract is over bat they will probably not be able to du that because this phone will be long forgotten in a 2 years. Hungary is a part of European Union & bi all means HUAWEI WILL HAVE TO REPARE ENI HARDWARE PROBLEM even with unlocked boot loader bi eu law's! This is not me first Huawei phone & i newer had eni problem with warranty from local Huawei service providers! If i had i wouldn't ever bay eni Huawei product again! About carriers well wi are yust sentenced to some of them... Picture varies a little from country to country bat it's back to same thing after all! If they cud they would probably prohibit voip & other things that are killing they earnings bat they can't! Bottom line it's possible to re lock carrier bat you won't find code for that eni where other than in contracted service for Huawei!
Guest csubuka Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 Thanks again! I thought that in this case carrier re-locking will be possible at home because it was possible (a year and a half ago or something like that) on a Galaxy S, and that does not count as a severely outdated phone... I just had to type in some service code into the dialer and a menu popped up and things just went fine... after entering the NCK unlock code naturally on a stock firmware... So it may be possible if someone tells the factory code to do that *#whatever#* something like that...
Guest calyyn Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 This is the code for the secret menu: *#*#2846579#*#*
Guest csubuka Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 Thanks again! I already checked this menu out and (though I may be wrong) in this menu I can not control and set the carrier lock status of the device... it only tells me whether or not is is locked...
