There is a problem with a batch of these phones as documented by me and others. If the phone begins to constantly reboot and the battery runs down extremely quickly, TAKE IT BACK to Vodafone. If you have rooted the phone, unroot and then do a factory reset.

You know that this is not really that common!

There is not that much of hardware failure problems, i only counted a dozen of cases on 3 forums!

For a mass produced cheap phone that is massively sold bat truth is that they cud improve quality control!

I'm on my second G510, having returned the first one for random reboots and battery running down. It went back twice for them to do a factory reset before they gave me another phone about two months ago. I left it for a month or so, thought everything was OK so I unlocked the boot loader and rooted the phone (using TWRP). Shock horror the second phone is now doing exactly the same. Can anyone help. How do I un-root the phone and how do I re-lock the bootloader? I'm on the original VF stock ROM (G510-0100V100R001C02B171). Thanks in anticipation

I am now glad that I did not persist in trying to unlock - couldn't access the command line - in light of the problems you are experiencing.  This has proved to be a pretty crap phone.  Here:  http://www.huaweidevice.com/worldwide/servicePolicy.do?method=getUnlockStep are the instructions from Huawei's site on unlocking and RELOCKING.  Someone else will be able to tell you about removing TWRP or you could just google it.

I have the same problem... well, not exactly the same. No reboots, but the battery drains very slowly, and randomly, when i'm using and it's below 50%, in drains instantly the 20%, going at 30%. If i reboot, the battery returns to 38%-40%....

Not a big problem for me, as in seems only a level battery reading mistake. If i don't reboot it stays to 30% as along as if i reboot and it returns to 40% with normal constant drain.

I will try CM10 r6 now (i have fusion)....

Thanks for the info, have a green tick. I'll do as you suggest. Quite by chance I found out what was causing my re-boots!!! I put the phone down on a hard surface (I've got a flip case cover to protect it) and it powered off. I realised that every time I tapped the phone it powered off. VF gave me the battery from the phone I returned so I fitted that and no re-boots. It's my second G510, I had a G300 before then; I think they're OK phones. My first Android was the ZTE Blade, great phone, easy to root and use custom ROM's. I'm very tempted to get the ZTE Blade V for my wife:  http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/zte-blade-v-4-quad-core-payg-phone-99-99-inc-10-topup-virgin-mobile-104-99-unlocked-1672334. It looks a great spec for the £££'s.

I am not convinced by this.  I have the same type of case and usually leave the phone on a hard surface.  Anyway, glad I was able to point you in the right direction so far as re-locking.

My experience with the G510 is that it is WORSE than the ZTE Skate I had before.  It may have been slow, but once rooted it was at least stable.  Looking to ditch the 510, but don't where to look for my next budget phone.  Perhaps I should SERIOUSLY consider selling both of my phones and get the HTC One Mini or the Blackberry Z10.
