Guest KenBW2 Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 (edited) I have a fairly disposable Y300, and I'm thinking of using it to test ROMs and such. Before I get all reckless, am I right in thinking that, with a backup and recovery, I can recover from any problematic ROM installation? Any partitions I should avoid wiping and such? Guest ZolaIII Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 All partitions that you don't know don't delete... You can't brick the phone with rom bat there is a minor possibility that the touch stops working in recovery & that rom stacks in boot loop. Adb & dload should still be working in that case!
Guest KenBW2 Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 All partitions that you don't know don't delete... I normally wipe data, cache and dalvik. Sometimes I wipe system, but I'm not sure if this is necessary. there is a minor possibility that the touch stops working in recovery & that rom stacks in boot loop. Yea I had this on the G510 when flashing the CM10.1 ROM Adb & dload should still be working in that case! i.e. flash a new recovery and all should be golden. Thanks for the advice, let the reckless flashing commence. If it would be helpful, as it's not my primary phone (my other Y300 is) I can flash random things people might be too worried to flash. Let me know!
