Guest sharkyo01
Have you unlocked the bootloader?
Guest cryptoncore
How do I do so? Will I get the random 3G reboot errors?
Guest sharkyo01
I would use this and send off your official bootloader unlock code. http://www.modaco.com/topic/362821-tutorial-how-to-officially-unlock-the-bootloader-with-definitions-relock-guide-included/
Guest hippy dave
I don't think you need to unlock the bootloader on gingerbread. The unlock code would only work for ics. You should be able to root gingerbread and install CWM, follow one of the guides e.g. "like you're 5", just stop before upgrading to ics.
Guest cryptoncore
It installed apparently, but I can't get into recovery. it just hangs on the bootlogo..
Guest hippy dave
Are you definitely holding volume up, not volume down? Edit: oh, it has to be the right version of CWM as well. Edit edit: just saw in the other thread that you sorted it :-) Edited July 1, 2013 by hippy dave
Guest cryptoncore
Sorted sorry I should have posted here as well, you were right it was only CWM5 that should have been installed. The fastboot command installed the img fine and it worked. Edited July 1, 2013 by cryptoncore
