Guest Colossae3.23 Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 (edited) On the windowscentral forum I saw someone mention that you could do this via a PC. Just wondering if anyone on here has done this, or knows if it's not possible? I always thought you could only save: photos, music, videos, and docs to the SD card in WP8. Thanks sorry, you can't do this, at the moment. Should've googled it first :P Edited July 4, 2013 by Colossae3.23
Guest PaulMilbank Posted July 9, 2013 Report Posted July 9, 2013 Yep, hopefully in 8.1! 4gb of internal storage is not enough for apps once WP has had its way with it. Apps need to have the option of using external storage.
Guest awarner Posted April 24, 2014 Report Posted April 24, 2014 And now 8.1 is available (dev unlocked preview currently) apps can now be installed on the SD card :-) 8.1 is the best thing that has happened to WP

I am looking forward to it :) But, I'm a bit concerned about the Dev release cause I've read numerous stories of abnormal battery drain, after loading it. The thing is: once you've installed the Dev version, you can't go backwards (back to 8.0)...
Guest awarner Posted May 7, 2014 Report Posted May 7, 2014 You can go back, I read one article explaining how to do it shortly after the dev release was launched, I do not have the link to hand unfortunately. As for battery drain, I've not really encountered much of a problem myself, possible some of the reports may be simply down to the device being used more than normal as with anything new. Some did claim Cortana was to blame but again it's not been the case with my 925.

You must use a pc to do it, with Nokia Software Tool installed (not sure that's the correct name though) Regarding battery drain on WP8.1 DVP, I just read this today. http://allaboutwindowsphone.com/features/item/19770_Charting_the_hill_that_Windows.php This guy claims a million people are effected. Even if he's half right, that is a lot. I didn't read every detail of the article, but it seems its an OS issue. All the best, Bill
