USB Tethering goes to sleep, stock Y300-0100 :-(

My Y300-0100, rooted, stock rom, keeps disabling the usb tethering connection after about 5 to 10 minutes of the screen going off. It starts again instantly when I wake it up. Is there any way to stop this useless action as I use it tethered to a laptop often and have to keep waking the thing up a lot to keep using it.

well it's could deep sleep & all unnecessary future's are automatically turned off!

You can du one of two following things: use some of tethering apps from market that have the keep awake function, or in the android settings - options for programmer's choose keep awake when charging (aff core this will only help when phone is connected to the somsomething).

I em assuming that you are using wifi tethering...

no, im using USB tethering, the phone is connected to a laptop via USB cable and is therefor charging while being used for tethering. Found "screen will never sleep while charging" under dev options, will try that.

- test 1 hour-

seems to be working, even when i put the screen off manually with the power button,

must keep screen awake all the time,,, not perfect but better,,, phone gets warm with screen lit all the time.

Well you can put a dark (mostly black) background -wallpaper & turn the automatic background lighting off. Don't vary the LCD’s don't burn out easily!

Last night I tried to download a torrent on my pc via usb tethered phone, left it running all night, found it had stopped after only an hour or so, I think it’s still got something killing the network to the tethered usb. Old phone works all night every time. I have full bars and an H

Perhaps in build.prop or something? I have no clue in this. (noob)

A search shows Power_Collapse (deep sleep mode) should not affect usb tether, perhaps the Y300 does?

It’s possible Huawei has made non standard changes to get better battery life, but my noobness stops me checking this.

Reverted changes back to default as its not working.

Funny thing is that u torrent works like charm on phone!

Huawei didn't changed Qualcomms deep sleep defaults.
