Guest Clarkiieh Posted September 15, 2013 Report Posted September 15, 2013 hi guys I need to know what to type into the adb toolkit to push a apex launcher into the system apps so when the phone boot again it reckonises a launcher.. A lad has wiped his phone but root uninstalled the stock emui launcher so when I does boot it has nothing to open the homepage with??
Guest Voxpop2011 Posted September 16, 2013 Report Posted September 16, 2013 (edited) What's stopping him from getting the Apex launcher from an app market, installing and making it the default via the app's setttings? Alternatively and presumably, Apex is a free launcher, search google for the .apk file and install via the apk installe Edited September 16, 2013 by Voxpop2011

Alternatively and presumably, Apex is a free launcher, search google for the .apk file and install via the apk installe Don't you understand he can't. He has no launcher at all so the phone doesn't boot. @OP I would recommend making a flashable zip for the launcher, and then flash it ;)
Guest Voxpop2011 Posted September 16, 2013 Report Posted September 16, 2013 (edited) No I didn't, but thank you for graciously pointing it out. Edited September 17, 2013 by Voxpop2011
Guest insurgente Posted September 16, 2013 Report Posted September 16, 2013 uh yes, sorry to cause any aggro...some cross-posting going on here: http://www.modaco.com/topic/365085-factory-reset-my-y300-now-bricked-help/ basically I have no launcher...so not sure how I can get one on my phone so it'll work...that's if it'll even boot up
Guest ZolaIII Posted September 16, 2013 Report Posted September 16, 2013 Put the original launcher back to the phone with adb adb push launcher.name.apk /system/app/launcher.name.apk Or Install launcher adb install apkfilename You will nead to have enabled usb debugging for this! Best thing is that you before trying this read a good manual! So hire is one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2131284
Guest insurgente Posted September 16, 2013 Report Posted September 16, 2013 thanks! I'll have a proper look at that guide... any idea where there's a .apk of the original Huawei launcher that came with the phone? my phone is now not booting up fast the Huawei symbol...so we'll see :/
Guest ZolaIII Posted September 16, 2013 Report Posted September 16, 2013 I can't remember if this one is system or usual app so use this or some other launcher app & goo with the install command. & you will need to have unlocked boot loader to write any thing! You can exploit the same method you used to root the phone in the first place to the point of installing the first bootimg.iso that belongs to the Chinese Y300-0010 that comes with unlocked boot loader. Just to clear the things up can you boot in the recovery?

I hope you can get your phone sorted.

At this moment in time, I don't have an unlocked bootloader.... will I need to/be able to unlock bootloader considering my phone wont completely turn on?
Guest ZolaIII Posted September 17, 2013 Report Posted September 17, 2013 Well I em not shore that you will nead it unlocked. Bat if the need be you can same way you rooted! You actually have much options to fix the phone: adb shell, to update from sd card official firmware... When you are done with repairing I advice you to flash official firmware & re lock the boot loader before selling the phone!
