As a workaround, just throw your extra system apps in here and flash after updating.

GREAT! Thank you, I'll try with the next nightly...

Moto g will be available in UK for 130£-140£, it has the spec's which can't be overcome in this price. I think you should consider that. Edited by Hassams

Hi everybody.

Installed this great ROM on my HUAWEI G510 and all works fine. Only one question: photosphere in camera app seems not to be working (even not visible the photosphere icon in camera app) . Is this normal or maybe there's some troubleshhoting to activate it ?

Thanks anyway for the good work.

Fabio ;-)

Photo Sphere is not supported in Y300 and G510 because of the lack of Gyroscope sensor in both the mobiles.

man you're wrong ... photo sphere works on our device because i just used it so i don't know what you're talking about ... it works on ominrom (the rom i'm trying now) and it worked when i flashed cm 10,2

I'm dead sure I was right. Gyroscope sensor is a must for Photo Sphere to work. Y300 and G510 don't have that sensor.

You better know the specifications of Y300/G510 first. I think you are talking about Panorama which is a non moving photo.

Hi.. love CM 10.2. Three cheers for this ROM. i had hard time getting used to the stock one.

Questions:

1) What's the best settings for battery life. When on data it's amazing to see the batt meter count down so fast!

2) Messaging : i keep on getting error 'Message Not SEnt' - so is this a known bug? then i gotta re-boot.

have just updated to Nightly 20131113 so lets hope it gets better! (and now i just discovered there's 15nov nightly so downloading it. so good.)

There are some versions of our phone with NFC sensor.

I have a Y300-0100, and a sensor test app reports a "proximity sensor" (at least, that's a rough translation from italian) ...

It didn't work.

Better to explain, not to be misunderstood...
It actually installs the apk in /system/app, but the app doesn't survive a CM10 update and has to be installed again after the update.
Anyway, it may be useful to batch install multiple apps in /system, if needed...

I'm searching something different, as I would like my app to pass through the update process, keeping the seetings and data...
Maybe I've found the way:
Wandering through the folders I've found /system/addon.d/ that contains three files: 50-cm.sh, 70-gapps.sh, and blacklist.
The first two are scripts that I think are used to keep things safe before formatting /system as cm-update does.

Here are the first lines of 50-cm.sh:
#!/sbin/sh
#
# /system/addon.d/50-cm.sh
# During a CM10 upgrade, this script backs up /system/etc/hosts,
# /system is formatted and reinstalled, then the file is restored.
#
. /tmp/backuptool.functions

And here is the content of 70-gapps.sh:
#!/sbin/sh
#
# /system/addon.d/70-gapps.sh
#
. /tmp/backuptool.functions

So, the plan is to add the line app/CarHomeGoogle.apk in the list, cross the fingers, and update to the next nightly.
I will keep you informed!

G510 has NFC. Proximity sensor is the sensor that shuts off the screen when you`re placing a call and you take the phone next to the ear.

It seemed too good to be true...  :D
