I' m new here and I' m not an expert. I have the Ascend G300 bought (GB Version when I bought it). I made the OTA Update to 4.0.3 ICS Official  Update  (B935) but it lags. I would like to ask if i can downgrade it to the previous official GB.

Thank you.

You say that you are "not an expert" but does that mean that you know nothing about rooting etc.?

If so then either stop now or read up a bit on doing this and only proceed when you know what you are doing.

If you are prepared to root then you can

  1. Root your device: http://www.modaco.com/topic/353386-how-to-root-your-huawei-ascend-g300-for-windows-mac-and-linux/
  2. Unlock the bootloader: http://www.modaco.com/topic/362821-tutorial-how-to-officially-unlock-the-bootloader-with-definitions-relock-guide-included/page-17#entry2168479
  3. Install ClockWorkMod (http://www.modaco.com/topic/359191-recovery-cwm-clockworkmod-recovery-v6040-cm-last-updated-0210/) or TWRP (http://www.modaco.com/topic/359827-twrp-2630-official-for-u8815u8815nu8818-12092013/)
  4. In CWM/TWRP do a backup of your current ROM
  5. Intall the ICS to GB downgrade zip: http://www.modaco.com/topic/361310-downgrade-upgrade-from-recovery/
  6. Install stock GB 895 or one of the custom ROMs based on that (AtomicMod, Slim or SuperSlim - I'd personally vouch for SuperSlim but each to his/her own...)

There may be other ways to downgrade - and possibly without rooting etc. E.g. there may be a "middle file" that can be flashed in the stock recovery before flashing the stock B895 update.app if you can find it.

Some methods suggest changing/zeroing the IMEI. I would strongly urge you NOT to use them as they can cause problems and there are usually better/safer ways to do the same thing.

As I said above if you are not sure about anything then read up on it or ask questions.

And remember that ultimately you tinker with your phone at your own risk.

Thanks for your answers! Dalyer(one question: I have neither bought the phone from Vodafone, nor having a Vodafone SIM-Card in it(it didn't have also preinstalled apps from Vodafone). To continue with the .zip file should I have bought it from Vodafone?) I have downloaded to .zip file and in the manual it says "if you have a different version do not attempt to install the update "  **  It is only for b936 and b937

You don't have to have bought the phone from Vodafone for that package to work.

If you are not comfortable with trying it then you need to read up more on the various issues involved.

Somebody else may come along with an easier way to downgrade - e.g. without rooting etc.

But if you root, unlock the bootloader and install a custom recovery then you can backup your current ROM so that if anything goes wrong you can go back to it.

It is difficult to totally brick the G300.
