It looks like Paul is too busy to continue N4 development, or the demand is too low. I've unrooted mine and updated OTA to Android 4.3.

 

The N5 is now on sale, does anyone know when we are likely to get 4.4 OTA?

Me too - and what a sterile world stock 4.4 is, sans root!

Need to get the n4 match fit on KitKat to pass it on to the Mrs when my n5 arrives.

I read that the KitKat OTAs will begin to appear 1-2 weeks after launch (so within the next 10 days or so I'd guess)

In the meantime there are custom roms appearing already over at xda etc (I just want to see what an OTA update looks like - never been patient enough before!)

haha that made me laugh.

 

it's just a notification saying that a system update is required. you click it and it tells you to put your phone on charge and not need it for 30 minutes and then it just does it.......

 

but yer I totally agree I need the custom rom features that I now take for granted. PA have 4.4 rom out however it is very basic and includes no PA features (i.e. they have just made it boot and run so far)

 

I am just going to wait a coupe weeks on 4.3 until it has calmed down a bit and a few roms are out.

 

And in the mean time i'm guna have a play on my friends n5 which he got yesterday to see if its worth selling my n4 and upgrading :D

Absolutely don't flash with clockwork (or twrp, for that matter!) If you need instructions on how to apply this safely, follow this link , http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010312 or wait a few days for the OTA update to appear

i've persuaded wifey that rooting is the way forward because it allows twrp and TiBu backups
