3 LED's for Backlighting the Soft navigation Buttons but can they be controlled seperately?

Just intrigued I dont mind whether they can be or not, but when I had my phone in bits I see that they have used 3 LED lights as the backlighting for the 3 soft navigation buttons at bottom of the LCD screens. I wonder if these could be controlled independently of each other or just light up all three at the same time - just thinking if they could be controlled independantly from each other for Notification purposes. I have rooted and gravity Box but that just flashes all 3 lights together. Pic Below.
