Troubleshooting: When you do an upgrade you can expierience some strange problems with already installed apps. A good solution is to go to "Settings=>Apps=>App name" and clear data and cache. In many cases this will solve your problems. If your problems persist, the only thing you can do is a "clean install". Guest Tomvl117 Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 So it's possible to install this over stock, without having to wipe everything? And GPS?
Guest bobbes Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 So it's possible to install this over stock, without having to wipe everything? And GPS? Yes you can install it over stock. If you expierience problems when doing so re-run the installer and choose "Clean install" GPS works because it's a modified stock kernel with modified stock firmware.
Guest Spacecaker Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 (edited) if u mod or build a new kernel then u also need to post ur moddified Kernel source (GPL Law) but seems nice :3 btw *ISEE WHAT U DID THERE xD* I already thought that Reca Font was pretty familiar but then i saw it Reca = Acer but mirrored xD good one i havent thought of that xD Edited December 17, 2013 by Spacecaker

Guest Spacecaker Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 So you noticed! Nice :-P BTW Kernel source is not changed, only the config file. then that needs to be uploaded to Opensource Archive place xD btw is the UI changed or not much ??
Guest spiderman07 Posted December 18, 2013 Report Posted December 18, 2013 (edited) some pics would be nice... used aroma installer before and it's nice.... i like it....all stock functionality but with more speed.... :D Edited December 18, 2013 by spiderman07
Guest Tomvl117 Posted December 18, 2013 Report Posted December 18, 2013 Installed it over stock 4.1.2, works like a charm. It could be placebo, but it also feels a bit faster than stock. Only downpoint (though it hasn't even got anything to do with the ROM itself) is that the Notification Toggle app keeps a permanent icon in the statusbar. You can set it to transparent, but I would like to just get rid of it. Great ROM!
Guest spiderman07 Posted December 18, 2013 Report Posted December 18, 2013 You can set it to transparent, but I would like to just get rid of it. Great ROM! it would be nice... but i set it to show what day is and it's fine... also we can't change the number of home screens... 5 is too big for me. i always used 3.
Guest wimmme Posted December 18, 2013 Report Posted December 18, 2013 Very nice rom, tnx a lot! Very fast kernel too!
Guest spoondro Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 Hi, bobbes! You said that this ROM is based on original Acer_AV051_S500_1.063.00_WW_GEN1 Acer JellyBean Firmware Please, answer me to this questions: 1. Is possible to install your RECA ROM over stock EMEA_ORGROD firmware (Acer_AV051_S500_1.034.00_EMEA_ORGROD) ? 2. If is possible, do I have to root my phone before install your ROM (my S500 is unrooted and has stock bootloader and stock recovery) ? 3. If I install RECA ROM do I loose my installed apps (see screenshot) ? Thank you very much! Dan.

Guest bobbes Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 Very nice rom, tnx a lot! Very fast kernel too!uploadfromtaptalk1387406452550.jpg Thx! Kernel is stock kernel, so RECA speed should be the same as Acer stock. I only disabled some safety features in the kernel which Acer had implemented.
Guest sorinake13 Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 hey bobbes very nice rom you got here...I like it very much...I can mount rw in this stock rom without the tool...which is very nice...also every feature working great...thinking on a V2 maybe :D ?

Try it, make sure you backup your phone first so you can revert back to original firmware. 2. ROOT is not needed. The ROM is rooted. But make sure your bootloader is unlocked! 3. Not if you choose for Upgrade/Install in installer menu. Again, make sure you backup everything before upgrading. use CWM or TWRP for backup.

Guest spoondro Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 (edited) Thx, bobbes! I`ll try... sometimes. Maybe somebody else has already install RECA ROM over ORGROD firmware. If it is so, please post your opinion! Thx in advance, Dan Edited December 19, 2013 by spoondro
Guest sorinake13 Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 hmm maybe notification toggle implementation...UI changes to look like 4.4 kitkat...some scripts thanks to init.d support to give the rom a boost for audio quality very low in our loudspeaker and maybe ram and gpu optimizations....anything you like that would make this rom a better choice over CM...on which I experience a lot of freezes...good luck on this project...I think it can go a long way :D
Guest bobbes Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 - sometimes can't use back button to close app(Chrome)...and Chrome hasn't crashed...it's still responds normal... - when sending a message(not all the time) - after i hit send - Launcher has stoped working... - 2 freezes until now... did full wipe before installing it... instaled using TWRP Strange....did you updated all apps through Google Play? I use PIE control from Gravitbox and disabled the navbar. No freezes and problems. As a matter of fact I use this ROM already quite a while without any problems.

If you like more features maybe someone else can make them. Init.d scripts same story... If one needs more info or files for further development of this ROM please contact me, I would be happy to share them. Edited December 19, 2013 by bobbes
Guest Tomvl117 Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 Maybe implement Spacecaker's status bar in the aroma installer, together with the lidroid and profile changer app
Guest wimmme Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 Thx! Kernel is stock kernel, so RECA speed should be the same as Acer stock. I only disabled some safety features in the kernel which Acer had implemented. I know, same benchmark results as with stock 4.1.2. It feels also very smooth, and battery usage seems very good. No freezes yet. I don't use Notification toggles because I like Power Toggles better. This ROM with Nova Launcher, Xposed + gravitybox&app settings is very nice ! I use gravitybox for advanced reboot menu & transparent navigation bar App Settings for DPI settings for specific apps. What i would like in V2 ? - fast charge support in kernel - USBotg support in kernel (if that's even possible) - kill app back button long press
