Can't download files without them getting corrupted

Hi, I've been living with this problem for quite a while now (actually since I use my phone). I thought it was a generic android problem, but I see everybody else is able to download any files without any issues on their phones.

I have a y300. About 95% of the time when I try to download a file on my phone (apk, zip or rar) I get a 'download error' or something similar. Or it seems the file downloaded successfully but when I try to open the archive or install the app I get an error saying the archive is corrupted or something about why it can't install the app.

Downloading from google play is working fine.

I have plenty of memory space left. It usually starts to download than around somewhere between 10% and 90% it hangs for a bit, than I get the error saying something like 'download did not finish'.

I use wifi I don't have a data plan, it doesn't matter what wifi I'm using (home, school, public...) it behaves the same everywhere. Also this error is present with all browsers I've tried (stock, firefox, chrome, etc.) also with 'Es file downoader' and it doesn't matter what ROM I'm using. It was present with the very stock rom with closed bootloader, and it is present with stock based roms or cyanogenmod.

My wifi otherwise works just fine. I can browse smoothly, I even used OTA updates (<100Mb zip files) for cyanogenmod for a couple of weeks almost every day and they worked. There was no issue with them.

I tried downloading to internal memory thinking maybe it's an SD card issue. Same problem that way.

Does someone have this problem, or know about it? Can someone help me solve this?

Thanks.

Sounds like some dodgy hardware. Might need to hand it into Vodafone for a fix. Obviously you have to return to complete stock if you decide on that.

Looks like partition problem or something

Did you tried going to stock by update.app?

If problem still exist it might be hardware problem and you should ask them to replace it B)

Good luck ;)

A. Does this happen when you copy files from PC?

B. Did you try this with torrents?

If A & B are OK then you need to use a good download manager like ADM.

If A is OK bat B is not then then something is not okay with temporary storage to write.

If A is not OK then something is wrong about writing files bat as all works good with play store this is not the case...

Just try ADM or something similar from play store!

Thanks! I tried ADM and it worked. It's a bit more complicated than the normal method but at least it's working now.

I don't understand why the stock browser fails to do this simple task.

Case it's badly written & only with basis packeting error control & trading.

It happened to me in some occasions & as file (archive) is bigger it's bigger probability for corruption.

At the end why do you use download managers on the PC?

Mostly same reasons!
