Experia U Keyboard problem

Hi all ,

          My Niece has Experia U , Jellybean.  

The problem is there are letters missing and when she types on the English keyboard it comes out Japanese.

QLCVX are missing from the keyboard.

 

Any ideas what the problem is ?  

 

The phone shop said it was a virus?
