I am new here.

 

1)

Do I have to unlock SIM first before I do anything else? i.e. unlock boot loader, tarp, backup, custom rom

 

 

2) Is it possible to unclock SIM by myself?

My friend has T32 JTAG, QXDM, QPST installed, any chance?

2-I don't think it is possible because you need a unlock code. Modaco is providing it i think ;)

thanks, i will have a try, first dump all nv items from unlocked device, then compare with locked one and change it thru nv write command.

Just make sure if the phone is "hard" locked - I thought my one was locked, but when I inserted another sims it's not requested for unlock code, just something like "unknown sim". When I just dig into the Service menu and find there some option about network lock or something like this. Well, my phone was just "soft" locked.
