Guest radu_sergiu Posted January 4, 2014 Report Posted January 4, 2014 Hello, I need this official firmware for Romania, but I am not able to find it anywhere. Thanks. If a friend has the same firmware, can I do an update.app from his phone, and after that to update mine?
Guest wbrambley Posted January 4, 2014 Report Posted January 4, 2014 (edited) Hello, I need this official firmware for Romania, but I am not able to find it anywhere. Thanks. If a friend has the same firmware, can I do an update.app from his phone, and after that to update mine?Depending on what you need, he could unlock boot loader, install cwm recovery and do a backup. Restore this to your phone using the same recovery, just wipe data, cache, dalvic after restore. Make sure the phones are identical tho. This will not change the modem files if you have already flashed another update.app Edited January 4, 2014 by wbrambley
Guest radu_sergiu Posted January 4, 2014 Report Posted January 4, 2014 I can not do this, because I do not have access anymore to CWM to my phone. So, I need update.app , in order to flash it with vol + vol - power.
Guest radu_sergiu Posted January 4, 2014 Report Posted January 4, 2014 I found in here http://asanfile.com/file/search?x=-1063&y=-116&search=b193. It cost 20$ to download, but I have doubts about this site. What do you think?
Guest wbrambley Posted January 4, 2014 Report Posted January 4, 2014 Wow, I think its odd to see all those firmware in one place when its hard to find anywhere else. It is a bit suspect. What bands do you use there? 900 and 2100?

Guest wbrambley Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 thanks, I already had it and tried it. It is not working. Where does it stop, any error messages?
Guest radu_sergiu Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 update failed on second step, after unpacking, because it s not b193
Guest szekely Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 (edited) i have the Romanian model G510 - 0100 vodafone, had the same problem. the only way i found was this method. you have to install a custom rom stock based B194-199 rom with a custom recovery (twrp recomended), backup your Imei, reset the imei to nul, install the B170 update, then root and restore imei back. you will be able to update to b193 from settings - update. i tried it twice, worked any time, but don't forget to backup your imei . i read in the German forum that only the b173 -0200 update works, but without NFC. This is the only oficial firmware from Huawei page, shame... no 0100 update.. Edited January 6, 2014 by szekely
Guest wbrambley Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 it seems B193 was an OTA update from your provider. i cant find it either. That being said, have you tried going into fastboot mode and flashing recovery from your pc? when disconected from pc, hold volume down buton and press power until screen lights up. Keep holding volume down a litttle longer, screen should stop on huawei logo. connect pc and start command prompt in your platform tools folder (for me its "C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools") Type in "fastboot devices",hit enter and you HOPEFULLY get something like this; C:\Users\William>fastboot devices a48039cd fastboot If you do that is good news. Type in "fastboot flash recovery c:\folder\whatever\yourcustomrecovery.img" and hit enter. you should be then able to boot into recovery. hope this helps.
Guest wbrambley Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 (edited) Also anyone looking for custom recovery zip file to flash back to B170 stock i think this will do it: https://mega.co.nz/#!HB4GVa5B!Bbh-k3i-PlNpLOZuPga-WUTNXskSTvBSSXaWgC9YoDI Edited January 6, 2014 by wbrambley

Guest radu_sergiu Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 (edited) Guys, i do not have access anymore to recovery, so i can not do any install throgh it. The phone is in a boot loop, trying to upload automaticlly update.app. i have only blue and pink screens.fasboot devices is not working also. I had the same state with my previous g510 when i did also a mistske trying to flash badword lewa s*** rom. But with original firmware(b170) it was piece of cake. I know right now that firmware is b193. So , i need a compatible firmware tu put on dload folder in order to bring it to life again. Thanks to all. Edited January 6, 2014 by radu_sergiu
Guest szekely Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 if no adb or no signs , then the only way to put on the sdcard the official huawei g510 - 0200 firmware 173, reinstall, and then you can root and do a reinstall to the 0100 version
Guest radu_sergiu Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 (edited) I have doubts that this will work. Are you sure ? Is it a kind of universal firmware? Anyway, in official service they told that they will put the firmware in 7 - 10 days and in unofficial service point they will do it immediatelly. But i do not like the second option, because it involves jtag cable/opperation. The cost is almost nothing for both ways...around 50 ron or 11 eur. Edited January 6, 2014 by radu_sergiu

Guest radu_sergiu Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 (edited) Adb and fastboot are not responding, i can not put the phone in fastboot mode to flash recovery and to flash my previoys custom rom based on latest b199. Guest radu_sergiu Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 Yes, but B199 was a zip rom installed through cwm recovery.
