The P800 DEFINITELY supports app certs, it's just a case of whether Orange chooses to enable them!

That was my point - *only* SIM-locked P800's will (maybe) be app-cert. It depends on operator anal-retentiveness

The first batch to come to Denmark were apparently all SIM-free.

With p800s available on all different networks it would seem pointless insisting on an orange certificate on orange p800s.

Mind you if the app signing is off, then they will be gettings atrogly worded e-mail from me reguarding the spv certificate situation.

the memory stick duo is the real problem i see in the p800. Limited in size and availablity (only up to 64Mb at at the mo i think), and costing a damn sight more than other formats too.

Orange said they would send me a P800, but they seem a little reluctant.

Perhaps this is why :)

i got a p800 just to mess about with 2day and will return it time for my money back guarantee as i can purchase it way cheaper when it arrives to independat dealers! :)

but 2 things one good! no certification on orange p800 i installed alot of stuff on it and it happened without a hitch!

bad thing theres no support for line 2 which is very odd cos every other symbian phone on orange (9210 and 7650) work with line to perfectly.

i also gotta say the phone is brilliant appart from that and the handwriting recodnition is really fast and pretty accurate. and no way does it feel as big as ud think! id say the its on par with the spv in terms of quality of the screen even though less colours are supported.

Hi all,

P800 out on Orange today not cheap but hey what is.

Not that impressive. Nice screen even with less colours than the spv.

Keyboard leaves a lot to be desired, i did find that after a short while (hours) that due to the design of the key that sometimes they get stuck and you have to flip the keyboard and push the pin back! may just be the one I was using.

Ringtones nice if you can hear em.

Video is sweet much faster than spv, very good for first version of OS.

Menu structure is a little nasty, you can change the layout, but it feels like a Phone that Ericcson made and Sony graffitti'd. It may be me but I felt there was a lack of continuity with the menu system.

It is a big phone, dont care what anybody says, it doesnt sit well in any pocket and i'd be more than reluctant to take it out and about simply due to the size.

Best way I look at the P800, its an ipaq clone with a phone built in it.

Cool for business and tech heads but seriously way out of league with Joe Public.

True for SPV, but at least SPVx will address that issue.

Nice phone, just too late into the market methinks.

The 7650 has a bug with Line 2 support, and this may be the reason the P800 will not be supporting it.

A work colleague had to return his Orange 7650 and swap it for an SPV because of this.

I can't remember exactly what the bug was, but I think it was that the 7650 only rings twice on Line 2 so you don't get a chance to answer it.
