Guest chris_debian Posted February 7, 2014 Report Posted February 7, 2014 Hi, all. We've just got a Hudl and I expected it to be recognized (for file transfer) as a USB mass storage device, by my 32-bit Mint LTS box. Unfortunately, I don't seem to be able to do anything with the mtp option. I've used almost every distro since 1998, but I like Mint LTS as my daily driver. If it enables the connection of the Hudl, I will upgrade to a newer Linux distro. Anyone manage to overcome the mtp connection problem? Cheers, Chris.
Guest chris_debian Posted February 7, 2014 Report Posted February 7, 2014 Interim update. I've just tried the Ubuntu 14.04 daily image on a spare 32-bit box, and in 'live cd' mode, it instantly recognised the hudl. I am doing a proper install. Once verified that this still works, I'll try the latest public release of Mint. Cheers, Chris.
Guest Graham1 Posted February 7, 2014 Report Posted February 7, 2014 Hi Chris I had a similar problem below (Ubuntu, not Mint). http://www.modaco.com/topic/366123-accessing-hudl-via-usb/?hl=%2Bubuntu#entry2169503 Didn't work with 12.04.3 LTS but was fine with 13.10. As Mint is based on Ubuntu, probably same issue. As you've already found out, best to go with a newer version. :)
Guest chris_debian Posted February 7, 2014 Report Posted February 7, 2014 Many thanks, Graham; just trying 13.10, now. Cheers, Chris.
