That seems a bit too much! I've just installed his 05a MIUI posted on needrom yesterday!Seems to be working OK.Needrom download speed is actually very quick. Just a few minutes to download half a gigabyte isn't bad at all.Just a few glitches with this ROM for now, but I may well try some of the others if I get the chance over the next couple of weeks. I removed some Chinese apps too and had the boot loop problem BUT recovery menu was accessible. So you think that it Miui folders in SD card might causing the problem with "UI stopped working"?
