Guest baranov_dm97 Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 Hello everyone. I have a Huawei Ascend G300 (U8815). And the /system folder there is 377,96 MB size by default. So here's the question: is it possible to increase thу /system folder's size and how to do it?
Guest dalyer Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 I don't know if anybody has done it successfully but these threads might be of interest... http://www.modaco.com/topic/356010-insufficient-storage-available-how-to-increase-memory/ http://www.modaco.com/topic/359773-q-re-partitioning-of-internal-memory/
Guest baranov_dm97 Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 (edited) Hmm, looks like nobody have succeeded in repartitioning our device... In one of topics, which dalyer sent, I found a link to some manual, but it's for U8800... Edited May 12, 2014 by baranov_dm97
Guest dalyer Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 More to the point - why do you want to increase the /system size? Seems pointless according to this: http://www.modaco.com/topic/368846-romgb-b895-gbxtreme-rom-%E2%9C%B029032014%E2%9C%B0-multibaseband/page-16#entry2210179

You wan't to port TouchWiz to the G300? WHY? :P It's way to heavy, we are trying to make ROM's more efficient and this would be the complete opposite. Personally I think it would be a waste of time especially since we already have a TouchWiz ROM: http://www.modaco.com/topic/357414-romics-based-on-the-samsung-galaxy-s3-custom-rom-u8818-baseband-2030-rom-links-updated/

P.S. That ROM is for U8818, my G300 is U8815. I tried to install it, but I wasn't succeeded. I just don't understand what difference between U8818 and U8815. Maybe it's have hardware difference, or something else. ----------------------------------------------------------------- UPD: Found the difference. MSM7627A installed in U8818, while in U8815 is just MSM7227A Edited May 16, 2014 by baranov_dm97

Just completely remove the lines and flash again. U8818 ROMs work fine on U8815 and vice versa.

But it's so slow sometimes.
