[Q] Why can i update from "update.app"

so i try to update from the official B195 and on second step 2/2 it fails !

i format the sd card / i put other roms and after try to vol up+down+power but the same fail again and again !

i use the stock update many times and 3/5 times works with no problems ! and now only fail ! who can give me some help !

Probably because the OTA way of updating (which uses the update.app) gets errors because of things changed when you rooted the thing.

so i use custom roms after 1-2 weaks i but stock rom back "via dload" after 4-5 weaks i use custom rom again and same thing over and over for 1 year.

now i can use dload again update 2/2 fails

i update on the version B198 and now i have no notification toggles.
i think is a cust someting . is there a way to make the default toggles show ?
i can check on the settings/notification panel/ i can check on it to show !

i flashed before and after i "dload" the firmwere.

After installing the /cust, you haven't to wipe anything.. i am sure 100% that it works, it is the way used in my B209 RO and all reported that it works

 

These are the steps:

 

1) FULL wipe (system,data,dalvik,cache,cust).

2) Install the ROM, just press install, nothing more.

3) DON'T WIPE ANYTHING.

4) Install my flashable /cust.

5) DON'T WIPE ANYTHING, reboot.

 

if after this procedure it still won't work, it's a your problem and you are doing the wrong procedure.

Doesn't exist a Romanian B209 version, the B209 is general.

 

This is my B209 ROM: http://www.mediafire.com/download/juf5gh6dugei2u5/Stock+Huawei+B209+Cleaned+18-07.zip, it works and many spanish users reported that the toggles works perfectly, flash this and check if toggles are showed for you, YOU DON'T NEED TO FLASH ANYTHING AFTER THIS ROM, neither the flashable /cust, because is already included.

 

However, as I and H3ROS already said, you are doing something wrong, because this ROM http://www.modaco.com/topic/372741-rom411b209-aosp-mod-22072014/, has toggles that are not affected by the /cust folder, they are shown AUTOMATICALLY without installing any vendor/cust file because they are built in the systemUI.apk, and you reported that neither on this ROM you had toggles, so i think you have to check your personal modifications and procedures

on B198 no toggles and no 3g connection !

You reported no toggles on his ROM...

Why you want to flash a b209 if you want back to a b19x? B209 is better than any other b19x version

On b198 you have 3g but no apn... Just write them manually, this is due to the same reason that you haven't toggles, the cust folder..

If it didn't work i think is because you do wipes after flashing the ROM, you don't have to!

Yes but wipes are required before flashing the ROM, not after, the cust folder is situated in /data and if you wipe /data is normal that you hadn't toggles

step 1 i format data/system/cust/dalvik

step 2 flash your rom

step 3 flash custom cust

 

now i'm using your rom whit default toggles. so all works fin 100%

The b199 cust is not suggested for b209, you should use the cust integrated with b209 because i cleaned it

hi mine says "update exception, emmc is readonly, you can't update your system" every time i try to update using update.app . is there any fix to this problem? thanks!
