UPDATE: 060 BaiduOS - Chinese by ATX 059 BaiduOS Repack Download (I did it as usual, but didn't have time to test it. Do the backup before flashing) SMS works fine now (was bad in 057 and 058 releases) What's out: 25 Chinese apps What's in: Gapps (no problem with gapps startup screen now ) English UI at startup, CE Time zone at startup, Android L keyboard, APN database What's good: Pretty much everything What's bad: nothing special Apps to install: Web browser (CM Browser or Chrome), BZ Weather – fantastic weather app (MIUI design and feel), Music app Download Installation instructions: - Download zip file (rom) and transfer that to SDcard - Turn on debugging on your phone, turn off quick boot, turn off phone (some folks remove battery now:)) - Press vol. up and power button together for at least 10 seconds. - You are in CWM now (probably) - Wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition - Mounts and storage: Format System, Cache, Data. Go back - Advanced: Wipe Dalvik cache, Reboot recovery - Install zip from SDcard -> choose zip -> your rom (zip) - Reboot to system Leave your phone now for 5 minutes, let it take a breath. (don't format Data if you use TWRP recovery, only do first four wipes in menu) Setup: - Have a recovery backup, as usual - While in settings, find accounts and activate your google account there - Developer mode is activated in Settings -> About phone -> Build number. Now tap on it several times - Menu "button", Home Settings, tick off Personalized News Widget - Menu "button", Home Settings, Gestures – Double tap to turn off the screen - Settings -> Security -> Traffic monitor - set your data plan there - Settings -> Security -> Root - you may activate it there - Check Smart wakeup! - Home screen Tools folder name is in Chinese. Edit that and change the name - SIM PIN code can cause reboots for some, so disable it before flashing Removed apps (specified for future reference): BaiYiSearch.apk BaiduAccount.apk BaiduAppSearch.apk BaiduBrowser.apk BaiduClickSearch.apk BaiduDirectShare.apk BaiduMap.apk BaiduMusicPlayer.apk BaiduProxy.apk BaiduSemiView.apk BaiduSocialShare.apk BaiduSync.apk BaiduTts.apk BaiduUserFeedback.apk BaiduVideoEditor.apk BaiduWallet.apk BulletinSubPage.apk FindmeDM.apk GameCenter.apk HelpBook.apk iReader.apk Provision.apk SearchBox.apk YellowPageProvider.apk Yellowpages.apk Rom is tested... I wouldn't spend so much time doing this if it weren't good :D EDIT: Bug is found in 057 and 058 - SMSing brings error and then triggers another error for the contact being SMSed (Baidu OS is released every 14 days).....
