Image signature verify fail

Okay guys, really hope you can help me out.

 

I have a T-mobile branded Y300 that is rooted but the bootloader is still locked. I wanted to make a backup of the official rom before trying a custom one, but after selecting Backup in TRWP the phone only boots up with a screen saying:

 

 

Image signature verify fail.

Your boot/recovery image may have an incorrect signature.

Please update your image to a signature official one.

 

 

This is what I tried to fix it:

 

1) Downloaded an official firmware,put it on an sd card in order to 'force flash'. This fails, probably because its not the 'Tmobile branded firmware' and the bootloader is still locked..

2) After installing the Huawei device drivers and connecting it with said "Signature verify fail screen" to Windows 7 32 bits, its not recognized. 

3) If I boot the device to fastboot (the purple screen),and connect it too Windows 7, it is recognized (as a modem, not as a phone) but I cant really do anything then, because the phone is not found in check_bootloader.bat (could this be because USB debugging was not ticked on the phone before I 'bricked' it?)

 

Basically, I dont know what to do anymore, being an Android Noob, and hope you can help me!

Do you use latest TWRP? Do you have enough memory on SD card, because backup takes a lot (for me it took ~600MB )?

In order to flash firmware, I think you need to put it in root of SD card, turn off phone (pull battery for 5sec, then put it again) and press all 3 buttons. Power+ volume up+ volume down.

Yes, (I enabled debugging while I wanted to unlock bootloader) enable debbugging in Developer section.

That can be problem with pink screen, enable debugging.

As long you can enter in pink screen or recovery phone is not bricked. :)

But how can I enable debugging when I cant even access the developers section?

 

I can only get the 'Image signature fail' screen or the pink screen.

Go in Setting>About phone>press 5 times on Build number. After that you will get message Developer options enabled. Go there and you will find Enable debugging, tick it.

So you cant get in recovery (power+volume up in same time while phone is turned off)?

The only two things I can get are the pink screen (that is recovery, right?) and the Image Verify Fail screen.

No that is not recovery.

Follow this, and you will root phone and install custom recovery. After you ger custom recovey you can backup your old ROM and install new.

EDIT:as I said in the opening post, my phone is already rooted by, only the bootloader is still locked and in the instructions it says: go to settings and enable usb-debugging, but thats basically the problem because I cant reach that screen.

 

Only the purple one (which is probably fast boot) and the Image Verify Fail screen.

Vol Up+VolDown+Power=(Pink Screen)Download Mode !!

Vol Up+Power(Keep and count 10 even after screen is turned on)=Recovery Mode

Vol Down+Power(Keep it as said above)=Fast Boot Mode (Will stuck at Huawei Ascend Logo )

Thanks very much, the phone works again and I have unlocked the bootloader now too!

 

So now I have a rooted, unlocked Y300, but when I try an official Huawei firmware update, it still fails. 

 

Why is that? Is it still 't-mobile' branded somewhere?

Are you trying to flash firmware?

Flash some rom for y300 and everything will be ok. Why you need official firmware?

I think I understand why the update didnt work (remember, I'm still pretty new to Android ;)).

 

The rom I currently have is a T-Mobile branded Huawei one, you cant just update that with an official one (at least not by simply copying it to an sd card and using the Huawei update app)

Correct?

 

I wanted to use the official one (209) because I have read good things about it, or is something like SlimKat significanty better?

AOSP mod is slow for me, maybe because i flashed it long time ago when there is a option something with SD card. If you like new CM theme engine try AOSPA.

About update.app, i forget what you want :). Did you fixed your phone?

-after reboot, Phone workes again.

 

Am I correct the locked bootloader was to blame for the 'image signature verify fail?'

Unlock your bootloader. That is how the guy more above fixed it.

I also have the same issue, and I tried the above link, but they no longer provide unlock code.

 

Is there another way to obtain an unlock code?

If it doesn't work on one computer, try on another computer.

Also don't try on USB 3, only USB 2 works.
