How i can Install ICS at my ZTE Blade

Hi everyone :)

 

For first , i´m from Czech Rep. And my english is not so great , sorry for any mistakes and i hope that we understand us.

 

I have trouble with my ZTE Blade , i want new flash ROM because i have some problems with signal (sometimes device losing signal , but imideatly hard reset the signal was great ...... strange.)

 

So, in this moment i have CM 7.1 (7-11152011-Nightly Blade, Android 2.3.7, Core - 2.6.35.7-perf+), i Flash this phone about 2 years ago :D ... and it works great , but now i have problem with signal.

 

I want Flash phone to CM 10 or other good new Flash and test if the signal will work correctly :) .

 

I search some info at XDA , one of the first steps (below set USB debugging and Unknown sources) is finding the GEN version, i try to find Ask Mr Pigfish at the market but unsuccessfully  :( , also i try find at google and download to the laptop , when i find it end copy to SD and put SD to ZTE , install app and start it .... absolutely other app will start (1Mobile Market).

 

Please help me , i find this tutorial ...

It seems mr pigfish is pretty old and detects a gen 3 as gen 2 sometimes and thus isnt reliable anymore.

 

Try Blade Checker https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amphoras.bladechecker  , its newer and should detect a gen 3 correctly among other things.

Note that I dont have a blade anymore and thus cant vouch for the apps accuracy, but most of the reviews on the play store are positive.

 

.Your English is much better than my Czech btw :-)

Thanks so much :) so i instll this app and it detect GEN2 ? , this is log od the app:

 

Europan Blade (512 MB RAM) detected.

TPT Upgraded GEN 2 Phone detected

Use GEN 1 style TPT´s

Current patrition sizes:

 

Sys.: 160mb

Data: 294mb

Cache: 2mb

 

Can you recommend me some good tutorial with live links ?? from MoDaCo ? :) (at some threads is dead links),

or the old one from XDA is good ?

I think you should be able to flash this http://www.modaco.com/topic/360395-devrom2014-06-16-cyanogenmod-10-continuation-of-konstats-work/ with the partition sizes you have, it says you need at least 160mb on the system partition, so you might just scrape through.

If you want to change the partition sizes have a read here http://amphoras.co.uk/index.php/downloads/blade-tpts ,then use this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amphoras.tpthelper to repartition.  There are a couple of tpt`s on the amporas site that give 180mb on system, which is perfect for ics. 

According to the documentation, you just run the app, choose a tpt and then It should install and reboot into clockwork mod with the new partition sizes and you can flash an ics rom of your choosing.

I think the Gen 1 to Gen 2 v10f tpt looks good.

 

Please bare in mind that i dont have a blade anymore and so cant test or vouch for any of this, it could brick your phone or just not work.

 

It might be worth just installing a different gingerbread rom, the phone runs those great and you dont need to repartition. I seem to recall ics being quite laggy on my old blade (this was a long time ago mind, so things might be better now).
