Guest Swan Age Posted January 22, 2015 Report Posted January 22, 2015 Ma boi; trying installing Apollo Music Player (https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95784891001614565) and accessing the "Equaliser" function from the 3-dot menu button. Post back results? Tried Apollo, no equaliser function shows up in the 3-dot menu. Same with Play Music, no equaliser. Shuttle+ has its own equaliser. Before the update there were 2 components to the Dolby sound subsystem under system apps. Now there is only one, so it looks as though the equaliser control panel component has been removed.
Guest 4L0M Posted January 23, 2015 Report Posted January 23, 2015 This si really not good. The fact that the HUDL had this equalizer and my phone didn't made it my go to media device :( J If you are prepared to root your Hudl2 then you could install Viper4Android and this will include a standalone Graphic Equalizer, Bass booster, Pre-amp, virtual surround than can be set up with different profiles for Headphones, The Hudl2's speakers or Bluetooth speakers. I have it installed on mine and it works great.
Guest PaulOBrien Posted January 23, 2015 Report Posted January 23, 2015 I have just tried the ota but have come across a problem.Running rooted 20141009.191216. OTA downloads fine. Updating fails with core.odex assert failed. This sticks me in a loop of the hudl restarting and going through the update check-download-fail loop. I have adb sideloaded the rooted 20141009.191216 image but that fails with signature varification failure. Does anyone have a stock 20141009.191216 rom that i can try? Had a look but could not find one. Thanks in advance......So are you stuck in stock recovery? Can you 'adb reboot bootloader' when it's booting? We don't have any 'signed' stock images sadly...P
Guest ajpd Posted January 23, 2015 Report Posted January 23, 2015 Lost some apps with update. And for me it has introduced a big problem. ... about 1 in 3 times even though battery is well charged ir won't turn on whatever I do with the power button. Only way to un stick it us to put the charger in which recognises after a bit then the power key works. Help! Any ideas....Full factory reset has not solved it
Guest packetlos Posted January 23, 2015 Report Posted January 23, 2015 So are you stuck in stock recovery? Can you 'adb reboot bootloader' when it's booting? Is there a security risk in letting us have the file? Thanks, Andrew
Guest Robin65 Posted January 23, 2015 Report Posted January 23, 2015 Hello everyone. This is my first post in this excellent Hudl2 forum. Since the January update, the shortcut icons on my desktop keep appearing and disappearing between restarts. Not all just some, but generally the same ones. When I replace them the next time they may be gone, but come back later. Anyone else had this? Thanks. Robin65

It is becoming obvious that this update has broken things as much as fixed things.
Guest Posted January 23, 2015 Report Posted January 23, 2015 If you are using the default 'My Tesco' launcher, what about trying another launcher just for testing from the Play store e.g. Apex Launcher, just to see if the issue of disapearing shortcuts is launcher related i.e. a possible issue with the 'My Tesco' launcher?
Guest Robin65 Posted January 25, 2015 Report Posted January 25, 2015 Thanks for the Apex Launcher tip. There is no Tesco stuff showing now. Great! Will see if the shortcut problem is sorted, too. Thanks. Robin65
Guest vadonald Posted February 2, 2015 Report Posted February 2, 2015 Got the OTA, I've only had the charging issue once prior to the OTA, not had it since, can't say that its fixed or not as I'd say insufficient data to do that. The OTA deleted a couple of paid Apps  but just re-installed them and they work fine, no idea why this happened. Had a couple of issues, I tried to turn on Bluetooth and it sort of couldn't... rebooted the tablet and then I could turn it on. And similarly I got to work today and it just wasn't seeing any WiFi and it wouldn't let me store a new WiFi connection (I tried to just Add using the +) Again, rebooted and it saw my works WiFi and connected no bother. This device may have some flaws but on balance its a cracking bit of kit for the price, its SO much faster than my Galaxy Tab3 7.0 (which I got free with a phone, now I know why its free). Vince
Guest psthomas Posted April 15, 2015 Report Posted April 15, 2015 Hi all, trying to root a hudl 2 with build 20150106.154003 Has this been done successfuly yet or is it still just the older 2014 numbers that are working?
Guest crusader58 Posted April 15, 2015 Report Posted April 15, 2015 (edited) Hi all, trying to root a hudl 2 with build 20150106.154003 Has this been done successfuly yet or is it still just the older 2014 numbers that are working? You were probably better off asking this in the How To Root Your Hudl2 subforum, but in answer to your question yes many of us have rooted our hudl2's with the 20150106.154003 root image, I would suggest you follow the instructions found here :- http://www.modaco.com/topic/373642-how-to-root-your-hudl-2/?p=2248329 Edited April 15, 2015 by crusader58
